Continuando con un repertorio de temas reggae, esta semana les traigo una canción bien movida y pegajosa,tan pegajosa que luego de practicarla un rato no´podía sacarmela de la cabeza. Si la memoria no me falla, esta canción salió a la luz en la década de los 90, logrando un contundente éxito y sonando con frecuencia en estaciones de radio de varios países, como es típico de muchas canciones en el género reggae,la melodía y el ritmo de esta canción pueden asociarse fácilmente con un clima tropical o un ambiente playero, palmeras, arena, las olas del mar etc, y estoy seguro que a algunos de ustedes les traerá recuerdos.
A pesar de mi preferencia por el rock y sus sub-generos, el reggae es un estilo que disfruto mucho escuchar y tocar, ya que siento que me ayuda a equilibrar las energías luego de pasar un buen rato escuchando música más pesada, como la que escucho habitualmente, aunque para ser sincero recientemente he abierto mi mente y mis oídos a diferentes géneros como por ejemplo el Jazz, el cual no solía escuchar porque me parecía complejo y difícil de entender, y he estado aprendiendo a apreciar su encanto particular,alguien dijo una vez: "en la variedad está el gusto" y si nos referimos a expresiones artísticas, ¡creo que esa frase tiene mucha razón! espero sinceramente que disfruten el vídeo ¡nos leemos en los comentarios!
Continuing with a repertoire of reggae songs, this week I bring you a very lively and catchy song, so catchy that after practicing it for a while I couldn't get it out of my head. If memory serves, this song came out in the 90s, achieving resounding success and frequently playing on radio stations in various countries. As is typical of many songs in the reggae genre, the melody and rhythm of this song can easily be associated with a tropical climate or a beach atmosphere, palm trees, sand, ocean waves, etc., and I'm sure it will bring back memories for some of you.
Despite my preference for rock and its sub-genres, reggae is a style that I really enjoy listening to and playing, since I feel that it helps me balance my energies after spending a good time listening to heavier music, like the ones I usually listen to, although to be honest recently I have opened my mind and my ears to different genres such as Jazz, which I did not used to listen to because I found it complex and difficult to understand, and I have been learning to appreciate its particular charm, someone once said: "in variety there is taste" and if we refer to artistic expressions, I think that phrase is very right!
