Ciplukan or Physalis Angulata is a type of wild plant that is often found in empty land, roadside areas and bushes that can receive direct sunlight. This plant can reach one meter in height above the ground. The stem of this wild plant contains water and is not woody. The leaves are pinnate and have yellow flowers and have green fruit when unripe wrapped in a thin, round fruit layer (skin).
Ciplukan is a wild plant that can be used as a traditional medicinal plant starting from the roots, stems, leaves to the fruit. Ripe ciplukan fruit is yellow with a slightly sour sweet taste.
I boil the stems, fruit and leaves of ciplukan to make tea to reduce hypertension. I boil this ciplukan with three glasses of water over medium heat until the remaining boiled water is one glass. Although the taste of this ciplukan tea is bitter, it is quite useful as a traditional medicine.
