What better way to celebrate Christmas 🌲 than when you have one of the most delicious and nutritious birds 🦃 in the world hanging around your waiting to be slaughtered for the festive season.
Christmas 🌲 preparation begins early, and it could be as early as the 10th month of the year. We do this so that every box will be ticked before the season eventually comes. One way to do that is to ensure that what we will be eating is ready before then. This includes the meat we will be eating, if you are not a vegetarian.

My turkeys 🦃 have definitely reached maturity and all I am doing now is ensuring they eat well and add more fat before that time comes.
Raising them has been an exciting part of my homestead life 🌿, though honestly, I never thought that it would be as easy as it eventually was.
Raising them from young to mature
This batch of turkeys 🦃 has been with me for months, and the journey has been easy, though I had the cost of their feed to contend with at first; eventually, I came up with a formula that reduced that cost down to the level that I can afford.

I had to deal with ensuring that they have good feed 🥗, protecting them from predators 🦊 since they are actually not confined to their cage only at night, managing their health and growth, managing the house 🏡, and keeping it clean.
The cost of the feed was the main issue at first because I had to feed the turkeys 🦃 with the feeds that had the formula that their body required, but as they grew up, I was able to change the formula slightly, and they were able to scavenge for feeds around the environment themselves.
Although they didn't feed on their diet alone throughout, they still grew so well, almost like any other turkeys would.
