You gotta check out our garden! The chilies and bell peppers we planted look awesome they are super fresh and you can tell they will taste so good. We started this spot behind our house about six months back clearing out all the tall grass and weeds. It took a lot of work to get the ground ready but seeing how great everything looks now makes it all worth it.

Watching these plants grow from tiny seeds to big ones with lots of fruit has made our whole family really happy. Every leaf is bright green and wet-looking and the peppers are shiny like they have got a little shine on them we know we are taking good care of them!

The chilies come in different shapes and sizes. Some are short and round like small bells others are long and thin like little sticks. We planted three kinds so we have options some are not too spicy for the kids and others are hot enough to give our food a kick! When you pick one up, you can feel how plump and juicy they are really fresh!

We dug up the soil good and mixed in compost we made from food scraps and dry leaves. We even put some sand in so water does not stay too long and that’s why they are growing so strong. Every morning there’s dew on the leaves and peppers they look like they have little sparkles on them! It’s nice to get up early to water them and we even see butterflies and bees flying around they help make more peppers grow later on..

The bell peppers are great too! A few are starting to turn yellow which means they are almost ready to pick. Soon some will turn orange and then red if we leave them on the plant longer. Their skin is smooth and shiny and when we water them with our clean well water wow they taste way better when we cook them! Store bought ones sometimes feel dry and old but ours are full of life.

We planted them in lines next to the chilies and put small sticks next to each plant so they don’t fall over when they get heavy with peppers. It’s fun to watch each pepper grow from a tiny bump to something we can eat! Growing these peppers is not
just for food it’s something our whole family does together and has fun with.

We all help out from digging the ground, planting seeds watering every day to pulling out weeds that might hurt the plants. The kids love carrying the watering can even if they get a little wet sometimes! Everyone has their own job one person checks for bugs another makes sure the soil is loose and we all take turns adding more compost every few weeks. It feels good to work on something together and we even keep a little notebook where we write down when we water and when new things grow..

When it’s time to pick them? That’s the best part! We hang some chilies up to dry make dipping sauce with others and cook bell peppers in stir fries or pickle them. We don’t use bad chemicals just natural stuff to keep bugs away. They taste way better and it feels special because we grew them ourselves. We are already planning to make the garden bigger next year! 😊
