Who am I
My name is Zhiyuan, most people find it is not easy to pronounce so I suggest they call my English name which is Joanne, similar pronunciation to my original name. I'm from China Heilongjiang Province, a small town called Pinghe village. a very cold place covered up with snow in the winter. my hobbies are dancing, Yoga, Watching TV series, and exploring new places. most importantly I always had a passion for learning different languages, having language exchange with others and getting to know other cultures.
My language learning Journey
even though I grew up in China because of my family background which is our ancestor immigrated from Korea to China back in 1800 my main language was Korean until my high school.so basically I was able to speak 2 languages since little. from middle school we were able to choose eighter Japanese or English to learn for a third language, i chose Japanese because I was a huge fan of Dragon Ball Animation. when I was in college I loved the TV show called Vampire Diaries. but I started to get tired of staring at subtitles that's how decided to learn English by myself. then I had a chance to participate Exchange student program to do my master's degree in Japan. after I finished graduate school I stayed in Japan and found a job here. I have always been interested in Dance and tried different genre of dance at the studio. One day I had a chance to join a Zumba dance class and I loved it. it can fulfill both enjoyment and exercise. Zumba is originally from Latin America so the song is Spanish, i wanted to understand the song's meaning, which became the trigger of the Spanish learning journey.
the purpose of this journey is to record my life and exchange information with others!
