For this week's contest, I chose the card Talia Firestorm.
Art Process
As a twist, I turned this card into an anime girl, which is my artstyle! ☺️
I first sourced out a simple pose from Pinterest. I wanted a smiling pose, somewhat a portrait. I used a blue pen for Talia's initial sketch. I changed some features like the nose and hair. I particularly like her eyes, so colorful~
Next step was to fill the canvas with the base color. I used the tool colorpicker to get the shade of Talia. I then adjusted the hue and saturation of the color. The eyes were hard to achieve even though it looks like simple, hehe. I chose a simple blue color for the background.
Here, I applied the cell shading and then applied blur to soften hard edges. Using the same pen, I picked a yellow undertone for the shine of the hair and of the skin.
Final Art
Finally, I added some glow swirls for the background. I also adjusted the weights of the lines to make everything cohesive.
