So i chose to make and render the green steemit logo. lets go through the process.
SOFTWARE USED
3dsmax 17
PROCCESS
The logo was done using a reference image. The reference was made from the existing images of the logo

the outline of the logo was traced to get the general logo concept. After tracing and converting the vertices to corner or bezier as required, the outline was converted to a polygon using the edit poly modifier and the top extruded!

After extruding the polygon, a symmetry modifier was added to complete the two sided logo. A turbosmooth modifier was added on the symmetry to enhance the smoothness.

MATERIALS
A metal material with a green sheen was applied to the main body of the logo and a glass material was applied to the middle section too. Some renders were taken without the glass material( thus meaning the mid section was deleted.
RENDERS
The render was done with the ART renderer and also Vray was used for some of the renders,
