Pirate Captain - Splinterlands Art Contest Week

Welcome everyone, I hope you are feeling well. This Sunday was the start of the weekly art contest, and I was excited to create a drawing to participate. I really enjoyed the process, especially bringing to life the character Pirate Captain, a common Water Splinter card from the Beta collection. Below, I invite you to learn the story behind this fascinating card:

Bienvenidos a todos, espero que se encuentren bien. Este domingo dio inicio el concurso de arte semanal, y me entusiasmé con la idea de crear un dibujo para participar. Disfruté mucho el proceso, especialmente al dar vida al personaje Pirate Captain, una carta común del Splinter de Agua perteneciente a la colección Beta. A continuación, los invito a conocer la historia detrás de esta fascinante carta:

"The Pirates of ΛZMΛRÉ are not to be trusted. Their Captains are among the most cunning (and dangerous) creatures in the Splinterlands. Armed with muskets of secret ΛZMΛRÉan make and prepared for any situation, the Pirate Captains sail the seas looking for treasure."

To create this illustration, I started by looking for a visual reference that captured the essence of the idea I had in mind for the protagonist of this post. After examining several images, I finally found one that met the key characteristics I needed. I opted for a style with anime-inspired proportions, and managed to complete the job in about 8 hours. Below, I share with you several images of the creation process.

Para la creación de esta ilustración, comencé por buscar una referencia visual que capturara la esencia de la idea que tenía en mente para el protagonista de este post. Tras examinar varias imágenes, finalmente encontré una que reunía las características clave que necesitaba. Opté por un estilo con proporciones inspiradas en el anime, y logré completar el trabajo en aproximadamente 8 horas. A continuación, les comparto varias imágenes del proceso de creación.

Process

I started the process with a sketch, drawing several guide lines that allowed me to accurately establish the proportions within the anime style. Once this base was defined, I proceeded to apply the skin color to the character and continued with the details of lights and shadows to give it more depth.

Inicié el proceso con un boceto, trazando varias líneas guía que me permitieron establecer con precisión las proporciones dentro del estilo anime. Una vez definida esta base, procedí a aplicar el color de piel al personaje y continué con los detalles de luces y sombras para darle mayor profundidad.
