These days, much of the headlines are focused on advances in artificial intelligence. A technology that is more than seventy years in development, and which, now, thanks to the internet and computational and portable devices are within reach of the general public. In a way, it has eclipsed, not to say replaced, the boom of Blockchain-based decentralized ecosystems driven by an anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto when he launched Bitcoin, back in 2009, as a reaction to the real estate crisis that stripped many people of their homes.

Like most Silver Bloggers, I walk these digital paths, searching for alternative spaces of freedom that value and reward the value of content and interaction. Something that does not happen in traditional social networks. Yes, I believe that, deep down, those of us who have spent some time in #Hive have understood the relevance of blockchains for the world, beyond greed and beyond becoming a showcase for creativity and talent.

I admired both the content creators (although I like to call them artists and thinkers) and the developers of the disruptive software in our ecosystem, capable of attracting and keeping investors committed to this great idea. Sure, mass adoption would be phenomenal, but I suspect there are still a lot of conditions missing for that to happen. Perhaps, it will never happen.

You tell me, "Silver Walker, don't be so pessimistic. Don't worry, that will come in due time." Well, so be it. In the meantime, I see the advance of the dominant forces, the market movers, pointing in another direction, and not precisely towards the decentralization of the economy, as Nakamoto pointed out. Do not be surprised if some other disguised currencies with similar characteristics enter the game, sweeping away the truly decentralized ones, such as hive. I am alluding to CBDCs, the logical step of central banks' digital money, already implemented experimentally in China and projected in the European Union. Well, it is also true that in the U.S. it seems that it will not come into force in the short term, at least not in the Trump administration, and as stated by the president of the Federal Reserve, although they will give impetus to private stablecoins, such as the USDT. As you may know, we have a similar one in HBD.

You know, I even have a great distrust in Bitcoin, since as far as I know, after several bifurcations, although it is still the dominant cryptocurrency, it no longer represents the original objectives. How it came to this is a soap opera, worthy of a conspiracy plot, where large investment funds have their hands in. Perhaps, you will find publications within the #LeoFinance community that have elucidated the murkiness behind the bitcoin controversy that will expand your knowledge better than the brief brushstrokes given here. In any case, as is often advised in crypto circles: do your own research.

If cryptocurrencies offered possibilities of financial freedom outside the mainstream system. Bitcoin (originally) was seen as a threat to the status quo, to the point that it was attacked for consuming too much energy. I don't understand, then, why AIs are not attacked in the same way, if they use graphics cards with even more power than mining ones. By the way, manufactured by the same companies. On the contrary, the major powers are engaged in a struggle for AI supremacy and are announcing stratospheric investments, greater than those made in the race for the atomic bomb and the conquest of the Moon.

En estos días, gran parte de los titulares están centrados en los avances de la inteligencia artificial. Una tecnología que tiene más de setenta años en desarrollo, y que, ahora, gracias a la internet y los dispositivos computacionales y portátiles están al alcance del gran público. En cierta forma, ha eclipsado, por no decir reemplazado, al boom de los ecosistemas descentralizados basados en la Blockchain impulsado por un anónimo Satoshi Nakamoto cuando lanzó el Bitcoin, allá por el año 2009, como reacción a la crisis inmobiliaria que despojó de sus hogares a muchas personas.

Como la mayoría de los Silver Bloggers, yo camino por estos senderos digitales, en procura de alternativas de espacios de libertad que valoren y premian la valía del contenido y la interacción. Algo que no ocurre en las redes sociales tradicionales. Sí, creo que, en el fondo, quienes hemos trajinado algún tiempo en #Hive, hemos entendido lo relevante de las cadenas de bloques para el mundo, más allá de la codicia y de constituirse en una vitrina para ejercitar la creatividad y talento.

Admiró, tanto a los creadores de contenidos (aunque a mí, me gusta llamarlos artistas y pensadores) como a los desarrolladores de los software disruptivos de nuestro ecosistema, capaces de captar y mantener a inversores comprometidos con esta genial idea. Claro, sería fenomenal una adopción masiva, pero sospecho que aún faltan muchas condiciones para que eso ocurra. Quizás, nunca ocurra.

Me dirás, «Silver Walker, no seas tan pesimista. Tranquilo, eso llegará en su debido momento». Bueno, que así sea. Mientras tanto, veo el avance de las fuerzas dominantes, las que mueven el mercado, apuntan en otra dirección, y no precisamente hacia la descentralización de la economía, tal como señalaba Nakamoto. No se extrañen si algunas otras monedas disfrazadas con características similares entren en el juego, arrasando a las verdaderamente descentralizadas, como por ejemplo hive. Estoy aludiendo a las CBDC, el paso lógico del dinero digital de los bancos centrales, que ya implementan de manera experimental en China, y proyectado en la Unión Europea. Bueno, también es cierto que en los EE. UU. parece que no entrará en vigor en el corto plazo, al menos, no, en el gobierno de Trump, y según lo declarado por presidente de la Reserva Federal, aunque sí le darán impulso a las stablecoins privadas, tales como por ejemplo el USDT. Como sabrás, nosotros tenemos una similar en HBD.

Saben, incluso, tengo una gran desconfianza en el Bitcoin, puesto hasta donde sé, luego de varias bifurcaciones, y a pesar de que todavía en la criptomoneda dominante, esta, ya no representa los objetivos originarios. De cómo llegó a esto, es un culebrón, digno de una trama conspirativa, donde, al parecer, grandes fondos de inversiones tienen metidas las manos. Quizás, hallarás publicaciones dentro de la comunidad de #LeoFinance que hayan dilucidado lo oscuro detrás de la polémica con el bitcoin, que expandan tu conocimiento mejor que las breves pinceladas dadas aquí. En todo caso, como suele aconsejarse en los círculos criptográficos: haz tu propia investigación.

Si las criptomonedas ofrecían posibilidades de libertad financiera al margen del sistema dominante. Y el Bitcoin (originario) era visto como una amenaza al status quo, hasta el punto que fue atacado y que por consumir demasiada energía. No entiendo, entonces, por qué a las IA no se les ataca de igual manera, si usan tarjetas gráficas hasta con más potencia que las de minados. Por cierto, fabricados por las mismas empresas. Al contrario, las grandes potencias están enfrascadas en una lucha por la supremacía de la IA, y anuncian inversiones estratosféricas, superiores a las realizadas en la carrera por bomba atómica y la conquista de la Luna.

No sé, si estas divagaciones serán tan relevantes para un Silver Blogger. Puesto que yo mismo me planteo, ¿qué puedo hacer al respecto para coadyuvar en hacer una diferencia? Tal vez, sea comentar y difundir pareceres en este sentido. Mientras tanto, toca seguir caminando…
