Today, you stand in a place,
Blended in time and space.
You stand in a place where hundreds have walked,
Where thousands have past stalked.
Today, you stand in a place where war raged,
Where books paged,
And where evil took place.
Today, you stand in Hitler's footsteps,
In Mandela's thoughts.
You stand where science became reality.
Do we ever realize,
That time doesn't go on?
In reality it's frozen.
Doomed to go on and on and on...
In all it's misery.
Truthfully,
I think we don't realize the importance of history.
If we did,
We would know where we stood.
We would have understood.
Cause time conflates.
And we, the bystanders, are just a frozen frame.
