I've started a quest to find awesome summer-appropriate adult beverages. My have labeled me a "drink snob". I disagree! I'm just very particular about my drinks. Every summer, I visit new bars in an attempt to list my favorite new drinks. I evaluate each drink by price, the balance of the various elements in the drink, the overall taste, and presentation. As the owner of a mobile bar, I am always on the hunt for new ideas and new places to spend money on tasty drinks. So cheers to a summer of vacationing and drink sampling around the country.
The photo below is one of my specialty drinks. I call it, Paradise Island Long. the recipe is similar to a tradition Long Island with a few changes. Instead of Gin, I use Banana Liqueur and add 3/4 of an ounce of Bacardi 151. A splash of sprite replaces the cola, and a diluted mixture of guava and pineapple juices are used instead of sour mix. Garnish with a cherry, any edible flower, and banana slices. Thank me later!
