This is a very old photograph — one that, in fact, was never meant to be taken.
One winter day, I went for a walk with a pair of binoculars I had received from my brother as a birthday present.
No plan, no camera.
I reached a place that offers a beautiful view of the Żywiec area and the Silesian Beskids.
Looking through the binoculars, I saw a familiar landscape in a completely new way — more intimate, more isolated, and definitely worth photographing.
So I decided to return home and bring my camera with a 70–300 mm lens.
I came back to the same spot and began observing the same views again, this time through a different kind of optical magnification.
These were landscapes that had accompanied me throughout my entire childhood, up until the moment I left my family home.
For this reason, this photograph is particularly important to me, and I like to return to it.
Today, I am happy to share it with you.

To bardzo stare zdjęcie, które w zasadzie miało nie powstać.
Pewnego zimowego dnia wyszedłem na spacer z lornetką, którą dostałem od brata na urodziny.
Bez planu i bez aparatu.
Dotarłem do miejsca, z którego rozciąga się piękny widok na okolice Żywca i Beskid Śląski.
Patrząc przez lornetkę, zobaczyłem znajomy krajobraz w zupełnie nowy sposób — bardziej intymny, wyizolowany, zdecydowanie warty sfotografowania.
Postanowiłem więc wrócić do domu i zabrać aparat z obiektywem 70–300 mm.
Wróciłem na miejsce i zacząłem oglądać te same widoki, ale już za pomocą innego rodzaju optycznego zbliżenia.
Były to krajobrazy, które towarzyszyły mi przez całe dzieciństwo, aż do momentu, gdy opuściłem rodzinny dom.
Z tego powodu to zdjęcie jest dla mnie szczególnie ważne i lubię do niego wracać.
