I have heard some said stories of people having their accounts hacked. They accidentally visited steewit(dot)com instead of steemit.com. This is really terrible as they were asked to put in their passwords and lost not only their money but also reputation here on steemit as the hackers used their accounts to perpetuate the attack. Be very careful when clicking links here on steemit. Even if it from someone you've been friends with on steemit for some time as you never know if they have had their accounts compromised.
I think it is important to only enter you login information after manually typing in steemit.com, make sure not to use auto fill as this could take you to the wrong site. always check the site to be sure. If you have any other ideas of how to keep our accounts safer please comment below!
