Once the new player images are out, all of the players, coaches, and cards on the market are all updated with cool designed images from the team. Looking at the spoilers, it is likely that the market will react after the deployment of the new player images.
It has been around two weeks passed since they mentioned they will deliver t he new player images in April. Since Stakehouse den has also launched, I think they are postponing the GLS update. So I think this weekend the team will likely deploy the new images by then.
The market is still very cheap to buy the cards you wanted to build for your team. It is still the perfect time to accumulate cards and likely compete with others in the ranked matches. Soon when tournaments are back, I think people will still be able to accumulate and earn substantial amount of GLS. But the market will surely react for sure.
