Having recently had the opportunity to take a look at Conclave Arcana, I have begun taking steps to ready my account for the new Modern transition. With barely two weeks remaining until the first pre-sale packs can be opened.
## Taking Baby Steps:
The very first steps were taking a few weeks ago as I began to purchase dual element summoners and a few Rebellion cards. For now, I will purchase one of each and will begin to level these up shortly. Perhaps I will splurge on the Gold Foil editions taking them straight to third level. For now though basics are in order and I have 12 of the 29 Rebellion Common cards in addition to my current reward cards.
Most advice tends to favour the summoner levels but for an account of my size it is important to be a playable account first then competitive second. This ensures I continue to engage in the game and despite my relatively small collection in the current modern leagues, I am able to run a profit on the holdeck2 account.

## Bigger Steps to reach the goal:
Purchasing Pre-Sale packs is something I wanted to take part in. While I often find more value in purchasing the specific cards I want, I do enjoy a bit of luck occasionally.

In the past I managed to pick up a Grandmaster Rathe with less than 5 packs purchased so I look at opportunities such as the one below and think why not try it anyway. You've got to be in it to win it right? Mind you let's be realistic. I have 40 raffle tickets amongst hundreds of thousands. A guy can dream I suppose.
Either way, I picked up enough packs to earn me a card. Two magic damage, good health and decent armour for eight mana. All the while being a Neutral means a decent addition.
Packs I have purchased thus far are as follows:
1 Conclave Arcana Alchemy pack
I like the look of grabbing one of these for the cheeky gold foil. Sure this could be an unnecessarily expensive purchase but it could work out positively. Can you tell I am bullish regarding Conclave Arcana yet?
7 Conclave Arcana Standard packs
I think the current pricing for these is still reasonable. I cannot personally spend on a guaranteed Legendary pack so I hope to happen upon one the old fashioned way.
Bloodlines
I think there is a really interesting situation developing with the Bloodline feature with the Archons. This to me adds another layer of complexity to each tactic and where we normally select cards based on abilities we will now be having to consider the bloodline and how that will impact the outcome of battles.
This makes the promo rare card, Arcane Skinwalker and the legendary promos much more valuable as they can be treated as all bloodlines at the right levels.
With three different damage types, three speed, seven health and one armour this makes for a powerful card to play. The need for abilities such as Giant Killer will massively increase to counter such large threats.
Moving Forward
What is next for me and Conclave Arcana?
Well, using my earnings from playing I'll be picking up the remainder of the common cards within the Rebellion set and most likely, I'll work my way to finish the Rare cards as well. After which, I'll do my best to pick up a few epics before I turn my attention to further packs.
The main plan moving forward would be Starter packs. I think these are tremendous value considering you can build the base of the deck very easily with these packs.
Safe to Say I am bullish. Are you?
