UnsplashedWhen I was in school, a friend of mine said, "I don't believe there is God, because I cannot feel it, and touch him”.
He forgot that he was taught in metaphysics. He was a philosopher and he wanted to be like other philosophers that did not believe in the Existence of God.
He also knew that there are Christian philosophers.
After the first semester at 100 level, he had failed 5 courses; in the second semester he failed 4 courses.
He called me and told me everything, I thought he was not academically sound, I told him to start reading all his courses at the beginning of the semester, he accepted it, and kept on reading his book.
He had a nightmare one day and told me about it. I said he should pray to God for forgiveness because God is merciful.
He couldn't pray to God because he never believed God; he had the nightmare the second time, he became scared and ran to the pastor for prayer.
That was how he started going to church! But his ordeals did not end there, he failed in the first semester of 200 level; he began to pray to God to forgive him.
One day, a petrol trailer failed, and killed many people in my area. When my friend heard about it, he said “that is the work of Evil. Chris, to be sincere with you Devil is real, and is causing problems on the earth.”
Because people are seeing the evil everyday such as a accident, some people believe their is existence of eviland not believe in the existence of God.
Luke 18:8 “I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?”
It has been fortold in the book of of Luke 8:18. This is the result of end time, we are in the end time where people will not remember there is God.
2 Timothy 3:9 “This also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
We are in the end time where people love money than anything; they forget the place of God in their lives. I have watched series of movies where people do anything to get money. I have watched movies where a son used his patent for money; and you whosoever can use his patent, can use anything to get money.
Leaders are Joining courts just to control others; and they don't want to be controlled by anyone.
People believe that when evil things happen, it is caused by the devil but when good things happen, it is by luck or effort.
They often don't think that the good things that happen are triggered by God.
Psalm 14:1 “The fools say in their heart, ‘there is no God’.”
Some people did not believe that God exists because a God who gives his only begotten son, a God of love, allows evil, pain, and hardship to exist in this world he created. He knows from the beginning to the end. How could such a God dethroned a devil into the earth to suffer his children; with all his power he should have bound him and thrown him into a bottomless pit. How could he allow the devil to torment us on earth?
A philosopher said, “if God wishes to prevent evil but cannot, then God is not all-powerful as people think. If God can prevent but will not, then God is not good” - Epicurus.
God still protects some people from evil. I have heard a testimony of a boy that a car tire ran over, and yet his bones were not broken, he only got a little injury. And I have heard of people that fell from motorcycles and died instantly. It was a minor accident that took their life.
I have been involved in several accidents both motorcycle and vehicle, yet I am alive. There are many people whose accident is not as fatal as mine but they have all died.
The closer you are to God, the closer he will be to you.
One thing I also learned is that one of the greatest gifts God gives to us is a gift of choice. You are responsible for whatever choice you make. That was the reason he told us to choose life so that we can live peacefully.
Deuteronomy 39: 19 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”
You are absolutely responsible for any choice you take.
I believe that whatever that happens to us is a result of the choice we made in the past.
