Howdy to you all, my fellow Midnight Owls,
Here is the new prompt for the Midnight Owls:
Why are you not in bed?
Hi there, and welcome to the latest prompt for the Midnight community. In this prompt, I am asking you a simple question: Why are you not in bed? Obviously, if you are still awake by midnight, there should be some reasonable explanation or excuse why you are still awake. I refuse to believe that your bedtime is way beyond midnight. So go ahead and spill the beans; we want to know.
As usual, we give some highlights of some posts from the last prompt, and here they are:
It is only fair that I share why I am still awake since I am asking you all to share yours. Well, it is just about the least noisy or the fewest people roaming around during the daylight, but it is about my thoughts keeping me up at night today. I got myself in an endless loop of thoughts where you think of one think and then you think of something new within the previous thought, and just like that, the loop keeps on looping for a long period, more than you expect it to last. This is just another product of my overthinking activity.
I do not know about you, but I get this self-reflection in my head right before I go to sleep. You know that moment you are lying in bed, and flashes of thoughts run through your mind. It could be thoughts from how your day went, and things you did right, and the ones you regret you did not do right. This is the kind of reflection that kept me up past midnight this past day.
All starting from a simple thought of what does everything amount to in the end? Like, what is the result of the daily life we are used to here on earth? Waking up, building a career, family, clocking in and out at your job, and longing for that sense of purpose that keeps you going even when you are weak in the knees from all the stress you have encountered. You keep up with the facade of the ever-looping cycle of life, but I thought to myself, what would be the entire purpose? Does this amount to something, or does it just end with us here on earth?
Well, this is what kept me out of bed this faithful midnight. What is yours? Be kind enough to share. We look forward to it.
