The language of ivrit ( עברית ) Genesis 6, DTube Video #1

By @hebrew2/8/2019dtube

Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.

Continuing with Genesis 6:3-6

Last week we saw the the sons of God took human wives. Most English versions say that Giants were the resulting children. In Hebrew we see the word Nephelim.

I am of the opinion that giants were born to women and as shocking as that idea is, I also entertain the idea that other amazing, large, small, god-like, and other powerful beings resulted from those unions.

I would imagine that the sons of God would share much knowledge with their children, which could account for the deadly accurate alignment of structures built on earth by ancient cultures.

Immortal beings breeding with humans would also give them powers like those of the gods all over the ancient world, including the greek gods. As for the Tanakh, we will read about Nimrod who was very powerful and was the first King of Babylon. These are just two examples of extraordinary beings besides Goliath and his brothers who were killed by David.

Today we read the words men of the name to describe these children of the mixed relations. Renown or Legendary might be good translations to avoid problems. Modern day sons of Y'hudim (Jews) only say HaShem (the name) when referring to The Eternal. Some say Adonai (the Lord is a fair translation for that). Either way, Nephelim are abominations who want to make a name for themselves, that is to say, replace God.

The Name of God is important and even stands as the first command - that we not bring His Name to nothing or profane it. The second is violated every time we say "OMG" which means we have our own god. We are not supposed to make an "image to" or "form of" God for ourselves.

If you were to say, "My God would never allow poor to suffer or children to die", then you have imagined the god that you would like, the god that you would accept. The imaginary - an image in your mind.

If your God is the one that destroyed whole cities filled with women and children of mixed heavenly/human DNA during the flood, then you are blameless when you say "Oh my God." He is your God and you are His if you read His word, believe what it says about Him, and love Him

Corruption

If the sons of God were fallen angels, then they included high-ranking as well as low-ranking beings with many jobs and talents for supernatural battle. People would obviously mistake these children for gods due to their special power or size, then carve their images into stone, worship them, etc.,

Being replaced as our Father is not on the Creators list of things we can do. I am a father and it would be painful if my children were to reject me, or worse, to replace me.

The chaos and non-stop evil intentions caused by mixing mankind with alien/heavenly beings was the reason for the flood and resulting destruction. Those entities corrupted everything that came from the Father of Life. Destruction also came on the heels of The Tower of Babel, built to "make a name for ourselves", and the Exodus golden calf that was actually given the same name, YHVH, and worshiped for bringing the slaves out of Egypt.

  • We have seen God's words twisted in the garden.
  • His desire for mankind to live eternally on earth shattered.
  • The rebellion of the sons of God who see, hear and used to God.
  • The corruption of human DNA by those same rebellious beings who are still alive today.
  • The derailment our human desires for the one True Creator

Destruction was not an act of anger aimed at the ones being destroyed, in my opinion. He was acting to protect the untainted from those who were corrupting everyone. The same as one who cuts away the bruises or bad parts of an apple or potato before using it for dinner or pie, we do not need to pick through what has been thrown away and yell, "Why?" Better to to look upon what was saved and combined for the restoration of all things. Life on earth for with God for the Shabbat "Day", which is as a thousand years, the seventh millennia, followed by a new earth and a new heaven.

One last note about body and soul. Our reading talks of God limiting the life span of mankind. The word for body or flesh is used here. He still intends our soul to stay alive. Yes. There is life after life because death is only for the body.
