I didn't want to start doing gardening posts on my @wannabescrapper account so I figured I would fire this old girl up and see if she runs.
A few updates:
We had to get rid of the chickens because a new neighbour was complaining about the noise. Then they moved away and we had to buy eggs. I'm okay with it because they were the loudest hens I had ever met and shortly after that I was told that my bad cholesterol was getting up there during a bit of a health scare.
I'm fine though. It turns out that every late winter/early spring a few of my toes turn black. They thought it might be vasculitis but my systems are all firing properly and all of my numbers are well within the safe levels so I guess it's Covid Toes or something. I only say this because both winters I ended up with Covid and afterwards I got these black toes and hives.

We started a greenhouse!
It started as a raised bed garden project and ended as a greenhouse/raised bed garden project. It took a couple of years to get it to where it is today but hopefully it is complete by next year. We are ordering a diesel heater for it so we can ripen our food there, instead of in boxes in the house.

So it is a greenhouse with a U shaped raised bed around the sides and back because we have a small yard and wanted to maximize usable space for growing.
This is what it looked like this morning.

We bought the property behind us

(that's it behind me)
It's a double commercial lot and backs onto our lot so we have tripled our space and it has a massive shed on it. I say shed because it's in rough shape and it is just storing things now but it used to be the town theatre in the 60s, 70s and 80s. We're unsure what we are going to do with it yet but something.
The kids moved out and the dogs died
Yeah, it was sad but inevitable. Apparently when they become adults, we are no longer useful. Also, Blue and Dover have been replaced by Blover.
I'm just messing with you. His name is River. He was a stray on a nearby rez and he's the best dog we've had so far. Smart, stays around the house, fun and loving. We couldn't ask for a better dog to replace all of our lost children.
Still have my composting worms

Well, not the same ones, obviously. They've been through a few iterations since my last post, years ago. Today I went out and pulled everything from the one side and threw fresh bedding and food into the hole. I will go out later and start sifting the vermicompost out to top dress the plants and get a bit more health into the soil. Every little bit adds up and we will soon be eating tomatoes and zuchinni out of the greenhouse which is unheard of here.
We didn't even plant zuchinni but last year a friend gave me one for the BBQ and I am guessing one of the seeds made it through the worm bin and got planted with the tomatoes. However it happened, we now have a huge, mildewy plant that has these puppies all over it.
Anyhow, I hope to see you all soon and I will try to get back into the swing of things with posting. If anyone is interested in scrapping or salvaging, I have created a community for that. hive-172022 is the number and we'll be rewarding and promoting posts that are recycling, scrapping, etc...
