A deserted tree between the four walls ;

একটা পরিত্যক্ত গাছ;
ছায়া দেয়; শক্ত করে ধরে রাখে মাটি;
আবহাওয়া বদলায়;
বদলায় সম্পর্ক, বদলে যায় না না চরিত্র;
গাছটি তবুও পথ চেয়ে বসে থাকে
ভবিষ্যতের দিকে;
কি আছে তার কপালে!
রাম;শ্যাম যদু মধু
কত জন তো এলো আর গেলো,
কেউ তো আর ফিরল না;
কেউ তো একবার জড়িয়ে ধরে বললো না!
মনে আছে; মনে পড়ে তোমায়
হৃদয়ের কোণে তোমার অস্তিত্ব এখনও ধ্রুব তারার
মতোই প্রতি নিয়ত আমাকে আগলে রাখে;
গাছের চোখে জল আসে,
পরিত্যক্ত অস্তিত্বহীন একলা;
হয়তো এভাবেই মিশে যাবে
কোনো এক কালবৈশাখীর দাপটে!
থেকে যাবে শুধুই যন্ত্রণা ।
