On Friday morning I was really not good. The coughing was so bad I spent the night on the couch. I managed to get the kitchen cleaned up when my helper friend arrived at 8AM. He did some chores, and then we got started polishing all the good silver.
The masonry heater is not kind to wooden things and the silver chests no longer seal shut tightly so the silver begins to tarnish. Fortunately, it’s just the ends of things, so the cleaning goes quickly.
We nearly had the 2 chests done when he left to do errands. I finished it off and then decided to do the everyday silver. This had tarnished badly since my sister did it all in October 2024.
I finished that just after noontime. My helper friend did some when he got back, before he had to leave.
Larry has had the most fun in all this paper so I had left it for him to play in. I spent the afternoon sleeping and reading. I also spoke with a couple friends on the phone for a long while in late afternoon.
The cough got some better over the day and I was in bed by 8:30PM after getting the stoves going.
On Saturday I didn’t have anything planned, just clean the kitchen, read, rest, and keep the stoves going.
