The driveway was white but nothing else…

I was up at 5:30AM and got my post up. It hadn’t started to snow when I pulled up the shades at 7:15AM. But by 8:30AM there were a good amount of flurries in the air.

I finally got the laundry done. I had to go excavate the cedar closet for more white clothes hangers as I’d decided to hang up all my nice shirts and sweatshirts. I rested a while and then went out to tackle the kitchen.

My helper friend arrived at 9:30AM and got all the outside chores done including bringing in wood before the snow had really coated anything. Then he headed out to do errands. I had gotten a load in the dishwasher and ran out of gas, so I went to rest a while. I wore a mask while he was here as I was still coughing.

When he got back, he made me a sage and cheese omelet for lunch and I’d sliced up a pear. He’d also gotten some of his favorite eggnog to share and I put out a dish of mixed nuts. He gets all the hazelnuts as I don’t like them. He left to go home to make a stolen for Christmas Day.

Feeders - cardinal and sparrow2 crop Dec 2025.jpg

He’d filled the feeders and the cardinal was back. The camera decided to behave so I got this shot of the cardinal.

I watched a couple Christmas movies and then went in to my chair and read most of the Lady Long Rider book until bed time.

On Wednesday I have to prep for the brunch on Christmas Day. My #1 & #2 interns may come to help make waffles and cook the bacon. I have to get leaves out of the attic for the table and a couple chairs. The tablecloth is ready, due to the new hanging system. I have to get out all the dishes we’ll need and the good silverware.

My son is in charge of the house cleaning and bringing in wood. I hope I’m feeling better by then!

I’m supposed to go to my contractor’s for Christmas Eve dinner. We’ll see how I am doing…
