Saludos y muchas bendiciones para todos, se acerca el cierre del 2025, también podríamos decir que el cierre de otro ciclo, momento en que la mayoría de las personas alrededor del mundo realizan un ejercicio de reflexión acerca de las metas y objetivos logrados, las luchas, las tormentas atravesadas, las caídas, derrotas y victorias conseguidas el año que termina, y parece inevitable casi automático replantearse metas y proyectos para el próximo año, en lo que se convierte para muchos en un ciclo interminable de victorias, derrotas y cantidades de proyectos y sueños reciclados.

En nuestra comunidad de fe realizamos una actividad denominada "Fiesta de acción de gracias" un tiempo donde nos reunimos con el propósito de agradecer a nuestro Señor por todo lo recibido el año que termina, agradecer por la vida, la salud, la provisión y la fortaleza en medio de cualquier situación difícil que enfrentamos el año que termina; con la colaboración de todos preparamos la comida y nos reunimos los creyentes y sus familiares para agradecer a Dios.

Este año no fue la excepción, así que el pasado 28 de diciembre nos reunimos una vez mas en familia, en primer lugar el día sábado 27 a elaborar las Hallacas un plato típico de nuestra gastronomía, actividad que tenemos que hacer el día anterior ya que elaborar Hallacas es una actividad que implica mucho trabajo y mano de obra, además este proceso de elaboración en nuestro país es un de los mejores momentos, mas allá de la cena en familia, la elaboración de las Hallacas en familia es uno de los mejores momentos de la cena.

La elaboración de las Hallacas fue un tiempo hermoso, además de ser una larga jornada que se extendió desde las 9:00 A.m aproximadamente hasta pasadas las 9:00 P.m para los que permanecimos hasta el final, pero no todo termino ahí, el día de la actividad iniciamos la jornada desde las 9:00 A.m también, ya que necesitábamos acondicionar nuestro lugar de Reunión y decorar el espacio, así después de arreglar algunos desperfectos de la desmalezadora logramos cortar el monte y remover unos muros de relleno (Arena) que están quedando del trabajo de construcción que hemos iniciado.

El trabajo de decoración se extendió hasta la hora que teníamos previsto iniciar 7:00 Pm, debido a un retraso del responsable de la decoración, además del retraso en la decoración tuvimos un imprevisto que no podemos controlar y fue que en la tarde comenzó a llover muy fuerte y por varias horas, así que eran las 9:00 Pm y todavía estaba en mi casa sin poder salir luego de llegar a cambiarme.

Siendo yo el encargado de iniciar la actividad, tuvimos que empezar tarde ya que no podíamos posponer la actividad porque significaba poner en riesgo la cantidad de comida que ya estaba preparada, así que no podíamos dar marcha atrás y como pude nos cubrimos con algo para llegar al lugar de nuestra congregación mientras todavía llovía.

Cuando llegamos a la congregación a pesar de la lluvia había una buena cantidad de personas, entre ellos algunas parejas de pastores que habíamos invitado y todo estaba listo para iniciar, así que luego de saludar y disculparme por haber llegado tarde dimos inicio a la actividad y según nuestra planificación la dinámica de la actividad iba a ser breve, como en efecto fue.

A medida que la lluvia fue cesando se fueron sumando mas personas a la actividad hasta que el lugar se quedo pequeño, así transcurrió nuestra celebración entre cánticos de alabanzas, expresiones de gratitud y mucha alegría, hasta que llego el momento de nuestra oración de acción de gracias donde nos reunimos todos los miembros de nuestra comunidad, entonamos un cántico que nos identifica y oramos agradeciendo al Señor y dando gracias por los alimentos.

Luego de hacer nuestra oración de acción de gracias compartimos los alimentos, compartimos conversaciones, intercambios de palabras, unas fotografías grupales para el recuerdo para luego ordenar el lugar entre los que quedamos, dimos por terminadas nuestras actividades de este año y en lo que a mi respecta iniciar la planificación para inicios de año.

In our faith community, we hold an event called “Thanksgiving Celebration,” a time when we gather to thank our Lord for all we have received during the year that is ending, to give thanks for life, health, provision, and strength in the midst of any difficult situations we faced during the year that is ending. With everyone's help, we prepare food and gather together with fellow believers and their families to thank God.

This year was no exception, so on December 28, we gathered once again as a family. First, on Saturday the 27th, we made hallacas, a typical dish of our cuisine. We have to do this the day before because making hallacas is a labor-intensive activity. Making the hallacas was a wonderful experience, although it was a long day that lasted from around 9:00 a.m. until after 9:00 p.m. for those of us who stayed until the end. But it didn't end there. On the day of the activity, we also started at 9:00 a.m., as we needed to prepare our meeting place and decorate the space. so after fixing some problems with the weed whacker, we managed to cut the brush and remove some fill walls (sand) that were left over from the construction work we had started.

The decorating work went on until the scheduled start time of 7:00 PM, due to a delay on the part of the person in charge of the decorating. In addition to the delay in decorating, we had an unforeseen event that we could not control, which was that in the afternoon it began to rain very heavily for several hours, so it was 9:00 PM and I was still at home, unable to leave after arriving to change clothes.

As I was in charge of starting the activity, we had to start late because we couldn't postpone it without risking the food that had already been prepared. So we couldn't back out, and we covered ourselves as best we could to get to our meeting place while it was still raining.

When we arrived at the congregation, despite the rain, there were quite a few people there, including some pastor couples we had invited, and everything was ready to begin. So, after greeting everyone and apologizing for being late, we started the activity. According to our plan, the activity was going to be brief, as it indeed was.

As the rain subsided, more people joined in the activity until the place became too small. Our celebration continued with songs of praise, expressions of gratitude, and much joy, until it was time for our prayer of thanksgiving. All the members of our community gathered together, sang a song that identifies us, and prayed, thanking the Lord and giving thanks for the food.

After saying our prayer of thanksgiving, we shared food, conversation, and a few group photos for posterity. Then those of us who remained tidied up the place, brought our activities for this year to a close, and, as far as I am concerned, began planning for the start of the new year.
