Today, is one of those get everything lined out before I bolt days. I've got laundry going, bills being paid, animal care lists getting typed, reservations being confirmed, you know, the usual pre-travel stuff.
Tomorrow, we head south to Boise for Idaho Youth Shotgun State Competition. It's the boy's last competition before he graduates high school and heads off on his new adventure in the US Navy. My hubs also coaches the team, so we've got thirteen kids and their parents to wrangle for the next four days too.
It's going to be great! And no, I don't mean that sarcastically, I like the adventure!
And speaking of adventure, instead of coming straight home, I am going to divert a bit to the west and go see my grandma in Oregon. I haven't seen my grandma in a year this month, and she's not doing to well. My mom and dad are with her right now, and I am looking forward to spending a couple of days with my grandma. I think those hours may be coming to an end.
There's always something happening until it's not. Here lately my scale of happening has been a little on the excess in the happening side of the balance, but honestly I don't mind. I feel pretty blessed that I am feeling so much better, and with life being so fragile and fleeting it's pretty important to enjoy everything to the fullest.
Although, I can't say I am not looking forward to my new wilderness assignment. To be able to be and to just step back and breathe a bit without all of the chaos that's usually swirling around me pressing inward is going to be a nice reprieve. I'm truly excited about what's to come.
But for now, now I need to pack some socks and make sure the ammo and gun cleaning kit are ready to be loaded. There's clays to bust and cheering for the boy to do.
Once more unto the breach.
*And on a tangential side note, I am super over the moon pleased with how these cupcakes I made for one of my daughter's friend's bridal shower turned out!*
*And as most of the time, all of the images in this post were taken on the author's buttercream dusted and dandelion pollen slathered iPhone.*
