I was backstabbed a couple days ago. It hurt but pain fades and afterwards comes less, or no, pain. I'm still waiting for that but.
Backstabbed typicLly means that one has been deceived, betrayed, undermined and compromised by someone they trusted - not a nice feeling and can leave a lot of pain but that's not what I'm talking about; I was backstabbed differently - literally.
I hammered my body back in the day while performing my job functions and (sadly) I'm getting older; I've suffered through severe lower back pain on and off since my mid-thirties but this last bout has been more debilitating - a lot worse than severe.
I went to the doctor ($136), probably much to the disgust of those who prefer natural remedies, because I needed to do something about it. Phrases like, "open your back up and fuse the nerves in that area," were mentioned. Nope, that's not happening.
Of course, I couldn't just boil up the leaves of some fucken tree and mix them in with some frilled neck lizard shit and the secretions from a forest mushroom found in the mountains of Borneo then rub into the area either; I honestly don't know if that's a common natural remedy but you get the point. Useless to me.
Anyway, I had a CAT scan ($387), went back to the doctor ($136), and it revealed the issues and before even thinking about back surgery I decided to go for the other option which was ultrasound-guided cortisone injections ($793). Not a great secondary option, but marginally better than surgery. The strategy was to get some initial relief then embark on a program of physiotherapy and other things and who knows what that'll fucken cost! I have top-level private health cover though so that'll help.
Does getting backstabbed in the spine with cortisone in two locations hurt? You bet your fucken ass it hurts. It hurt then and hurts now, a day later, but the cortisone should be kicking in soon (if it's going to actually provide any relief...because it doesn't always work). I hope it works though, there's no refunds and I need some pain relief.
It was a fair amount of money but I've been rather crippled and inhibited by the pain and for a vigorously active fellow that not acceptable; I'm working through it of course and trying to lead a normal life (with pain killers), but I had to do something to find some relief. I'm not a big fan of physiotherapy but will go through the motions and see where it leads. I'll do what I can to avoid surgery though, no fucker is cutting my back up if I can help it - the needles were bad enough.
Back onto backstabbing of the other kind now.
Has someone you trust backstabbed you? Hopefully not, but I know how common it can be considering general human nature. Has it happened to you, or have you done it to someone else? Have you had cortisone injections in your spine or anywhere else? (I had one also in the heel of my foot a while back and that shit is like fucken torture!)
