This is the #123rd edition of the "Week through Adrian's Lenses" weekly Hive and crypto news roundup.
Let's see what we have for this week. We cover:

Week on Hive

A longer list of news to organize and go through because of my 3-4 days off. I finally (almost) caught up... this morning.
18 of 52 tracked posts made it to this week's issue of the "Week on Hive" roundup. A couple of them may be cross-posted in the Hive News community without being included in this news roundup.

In the Spotlight

From Hive Creator Days in Graz to HiveFest 10 in Kuala Lumpur

I want to include Talent Land from Guadalajara in this enumeration, even though that wasn't an event organized by Hive, but it had a small part for Hive only, I believe (the one for spending HBD).
Either way, where am I getting to? We have Talent Land in Central America, Hive Creator Days in Central Europe, and HiveFest 10 in SE Asia. All in one year, without even mentioning other events organized by local communities or where Hive participated. Looks like we're covering the world pretty well...
Hive Creator Days are behind us now, but I'm sure the memories are still vivid in the minds of the participants. In the meantime, posts started to come out from the event. I'm sorry in advance for all the authors posting from the event. It would be a hard pick. That's why I decided to link only the posts of @bil.prag, who is an excellent photographer and took and uploaded everyone's pictures, as long as they didn't want to stay anonymous online.
This must be from the conference day mostly, and this must be from the second day, when a CleanPlanet event was organized.
Now, as you probably know, the location and period of HiveFest 10 was announced: October 15-19, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Since the initial announcement, more details came out, like what will be the basecamp hotel for participants to HiveFest 10, with a 30% discount for those who act fast. Also, the official airline alliance partner for HiveFest is back for the 4th consecutive year (with an up to 15% discount).
Also, keep up to date with the image-generator app with the HiveFest 10 theme.

Marketing / Awareness / Branding / Meetings

Did You Know HBD Was Not Added in the Stablecoins Category By CoinGecko or CMC?

@x-rain discovered it was not added on CoinGecko in the "stablecoins" or "algorithmic stablecoins" categories, and managed to get it there in 1 day (for free). We'll see if it works for CMC too. When I looked at the process, it seemed strange, because HBD is already listed on CMC, so you don't need to list it again. I didn't see how to suggest it to a new category...
Anyway, well done by him!

Happy Customer Supermarket Selling to Small Grocery Stores

Remember this supermarket opened by @focusnow in Aba, Nigeria?
Well, it seems it became the go-to place for 4 small grocery stores. That's a way to scale operations much quicker and possibly increase the importance of HBD in the local economy. If these grocery stores also sell to their customers in HBD, they could pay Happy Customer Supermarket (at least partially) with HBD collected from their customers, no fees involved. @starkerz might have to think about the multi-tiered/compounded effect of SpendHBD's cashback later on (in case, or rather when it will be abused).

Learning from the Experience of Blogspot with Reddit

Knowing in what subreddits to post can be tricky. One can look at what others are doing and what works for them. Here's what works for Blogspot.

Governance / Development / Dapps / Education

A Big Milestone from HoneyComb

HoneyComb is the Hive L2 software that is behind dlux.io, for example, and integrates with SPK Network. Version 1.5 is in testing now, with some major points hit.

Hive Core Devs Meeting

Without Blocktrades (i.e. Dan), another meeting for the Hive Core Devs was scheduled last week. You can find details here.
On the somewhat technical side, I was surprised to learn that community-related notifications and errors aren't shown to users yet, and @howo is looking at a way to do that.
Something else that keeps getting worked on is the HAF-based Hive Block Explorer UI by the @mcfarhat team. You can check out a public version of this explorer (work in progress) here.

HiveDebit Update

During Hive Creator Days, I believe the Hive Debit website was in Spanish only. Looks like now it's also in English and Brazilian Portuguese. It also has a white/dark mode.
But why I wanted to include the update here even more was for the charts showing development progress compared to estimate and costs compared to estimate. That's professional!

AIOHA Updates

What is AIOHA? Something for developers, not for users. It stands for All-in-one Hive Authentication.
It helps developers to not maintain separate login methods for different providers available for Hive, thus speeding up development and reducing errors.
What's new in v.1.6? Multi-user Hive authentication (even using different providers, and switching between them) and account discovery for Ledger (by searching instead of typing the full username).

The KE Ratio is on PeakD...

... on user profiles. I have mixed feelings about that. I understand the reasoning for having the KE ratio. I also know there are so many ways in which that ratio is not reflecting the reality, can be gamed and also, can/will be misinterpreted by those who look no further than that.

Games

Splinterlands Updates

I don't have exact numbers, but the presale for Conclave Arcana finished quite well, with the Alchemy packs almost sold out, then the Standard packs heavily purchased, and the Legendary packs making the least sales.
In the meantime, general sale started too, and packs can be opened.
The last surprise was the addition of a Yaba-inspired promo card, pre-minted, to Conclave Arcana. Details were disclosed in discord.
Also from discord (initially), but also from an announcement later on, we learn about the plans to pause Survival mode and iterate on it to release Survival mode 2.0.
Speaking of Splinterlands, you can still earn some rewards for reviewing the Splinterlands app on Google Playstore (if you subscribe and check out the Hive News community, I do share there enough time-sensitive Hive-related call-to-actions, from which you can earn rewards if you participate).

PeakMonsters Added Support for Conclave Arcana...

... which wasn't a trivial task due to the multiple foils and pack types added this time.

A Different Kind of Game Development on Hive

Most game (and dapp) development on Hive is browser-based. To be honest, I like that, because I don't need to install anything on the computer or phone anymore.
But I understand the point of view of @spiritsurge who mentions the limitations of developing in a browser, rather than a game that is installed on the computer. He had a very interesting conversation with @ecoinstant on the subject and not only.

Week in the Crypto World

Coinbase Got Hacked a Few Days After Making It Into S&P 500

Actually, the title isn't correct, because it seems hackers had access to private info of a subset of Coinbase's userbase for a while now. But a few days ago, COIN got added to S&P 500, and shortly after this news broke.

Meta May Be Testing the Waters with Stablecoins Again

... although this is a subject that Meta declined to comment on. I can understand them, after what they went through the last time...
