Those who have heard of “The Tiny Chef Show” probably don't need an introduction, but this is the show's little star, the Tiny Chef, who spends his time cooking up all sorts of tiny plant-based dishes.
Well, this was a request, so I got to work and started making a figurine of this charming character. Please join me as I walk you through the creative process behind this piece.

Quienes hayan escuchado hablar de "The Tiny Chef Show" quizás no necesiten presentación, pero este es el pequeño protagonista de este show, el Tiny Chef, quien se dedica a cocinar un montón de platillos diminutos a base de plantas.
Pues bien, esta fue una petición, así que puse manos a la obra y comencé a hacer una figurita de tan simpático personaje. Por favor acompáñenme en el proceso creativo de esta pieza.
Materials
The materials I used to make this figurine were as follows:
- Modeling clay
- Glue
- Wooden skewer
- Wire
I started by shaping the forms I needed for the figurine’s head and torso out of the modeling clay itself. Notice that the one in the image on the left is black. This is because that modeling clay is used as filler, which I covered with modeling clay in the Tiny Chef’s color.

Los materiales que utilicé para hacer esta figurita fueron los siguientes:
- Plastilina
- Pegamento
- Palillo de madera
- Alambre
Con la propia plastilina comencé a moldear las formas que necesitaba para la cabeza y el torso de la figurita. Fíjense que la de la imagen de la izquierda es de color negro. Esto es porque esa plastilina es de relleno, la cual cubrí con la plastilina del color del Tiny Chef.

I moved on to the limbs; I made the hands and feet thick and plush-like. Then, as you can see in the image on the right, I inserted wooden sticks into the torso and small pieces of wire into the limbs to provide support for all the pieces when assembling them.
Continué con las extremidades, las manos y los pies los hice gruesos y como si fuesen de un peluche. Luego, como pueden ver en la imagen de la derecha, le coloqué palillos de madera en el torso y trocitos de alambre en las extremidades para dar soporte a todas las piezas al momento de unirlas.

Take a look at this interesting thing I made. In the image on the left, you can clearly see a series of different-colored strips of modeling clay; I joined all these strips together into a single strip that mimics the fabric of the Tiny Chef’s apron.
Once the strip was complete, I cut it into small pieces to make the apron, as you can see in the image on the right. It’s worth noting that I used glue to join these colored pieces together to make the little vest you can see.
Fíjense en esto tan interesante que hice. En la imagen de la izquierda se observa claramente una serie de líneas de plastilina de diferentes colores, todas estas líneas las uní en una sola tira que simula la tela del delantal del Tiny Chef.
Una vez hecha la tira completa, la corté en trocitos para hacer el delantal, como pueden observar en la imagen de la derecha. Cabe destacar que usé pegamento para unir estas piezas de colores para hacer el pequeño chaleco que pueden ver.

I also used glue for the arms and legs, as well as more glue for the apron and the small straps I attached around the neck and back.
The last thing I made was the chef's hat, which completed the figurine.
De igual manera usé pegamento para los brazos y las piernas, además de más pegamento para el delantal y los pequeños tirantes que le hice tanto alrededor del cuello como en la espalda.
También lo último que hice fue el sombrerito de Chef, terminando así la figurita.
