The Negro Women who worked at NASA from 1961-1970 ensure the first mission of Allen shephard and John Glenn travelling to space was successful using Analytic Geometry.
Katherine Goble, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, where the Computer, Programmer, and Engineer who ensure the success of the first mission to space
There was a space race between America and Russia back in the 90s, although the Russians beat the Americans to space, the Americans however were the first to plant the US flag on top of the moon.
The motivation of the Apollo II trip to the moon in 1969 was encouraged by the successful mission of Allen and john.
Hidden Figures is a historical Movie that takes us back to the past and tells us what actually transpired in NASA back then in the 90s.
Starring my 3 favorite Black Hollywood actresses, this movie is filled with alot of comedy, scientific calculations, viewing the world using numbers and gaining some lessons using figures.
Storyline [History]
The fact that African-American faced discrimination in 1960 and were fighting for Equal rights, These Negro women were looked down upon despite their high value and importance of their work in NASA.
African-American were secreted from the whites back in the days and were treated with alot of disrespect, the discrimination was so bad that there weren't allowed to use the same toilet with the white, nor were they allowed to eat in the same restaurant, attend the same schools and pick books in the same library. To crown it all they make them work day and night without paying them high enough to own pearls. Not even sharing coffee pots at the office table is the worst part.

This gets me thinking The blacks pay taxes just like every white folks, and last i check everyone pee the same color so i wonder why the segregation back in the 90s
In NASA 1961 Allen shepherd is a US navy who was the first American from New Hampshire to touch the stars by traveling into space launching a suborbital mercury spacecraft called freedom 7

Whereas in NASA 1967 John Glenn was the first man to orbit the earth 3 times in a Mercury spacecraft called friendship 7. The mission was to demonstrate that the mercury spacecraft could function in space, the mission lasted for 4 hours 55 mins, until Glenn splashed down in the atlantic ocean in north puerto.
Without the magnificent programing, geometry and mathematics calculations to ensure the engineer behaviour and performance of the spacecraft in launching and landing by these 3 Negro women the mission would have been a flop.

Katherine Goble is a computer at NASA calculating the mathematics necessary to enable launch and landing for the space program, computing over 10,000 calculations by cosine, square root and analytic geometry, analyzing the manometal levels for air displacement, friction, velocity, longitude and latitude by hand.
It's hard to trust something you can't look in the eyes, this is where Katherine comes in. She is like a communicator between numbers and humans, and without these numbers they pretty much can't go or fly anywhere, be it space. She also worked vigorously on the Apollo II mission to the moon.
Dorothy Vaughan is a programmer who uses The language Fortran to communicate with Electronic Computing. The IBM 7090 data processing system is capable of solving 24000 multiplications per second, Dorothy Vaughan was the first African-American Fortran specialist to program The IBM 7090 and get it working.
Though the IBM was used for the calculations of Glenn launch to space but the numbers it produce was different each day thus Katherine Goble was assigned to verify the landing coordinates of John Gleen, with her calculations by hand she did manage to confirm the landing coordinates of the Go/No Go point of John Glenn reentry with a few decimal point further than the IBM7090
This shows no machine can replace the intellectual faculties and capacity of a human. You can't trust what you can't look in the eyes and even if a machine does deliver, verification of the result with the human brain is required.
Let's Talk about Mary Jackson. She is also a computer in NASA, who contributed and worked with the engineering team ensuring the Mercury spacecraft behaves well in space. She wishes to be an Engineer in NASA, she can't do that without taking advanced classes in the university of Virginia which does not allow colored people to just take classes in an all white school. to fight for her dreams she has to fight for what she owns and petition the court. She became the first female African-American Aeronautical Engineer,
This proves that Action speaks louder than voice, to get what you want and desire constant action is required

I give this movie 10/10 Its a must watch for everyone, It's amazing how this movie shows one how to solve a problem with the human mind acting as a computer, it also teaches that instead of doing it alone and keep getting stuck, teamwork is necessary to pull you up. ***Well I guess this movie justifies the statement “What A Man Can Do A Woman Can Do Better”***
