A mammoth project kicked off on Saturday 15th February 2025. Its the first blockchain supermarket in Aba set up solely for the promotion of HBD adoption and Hive. The name is Happy Customer Supermarket. This project spent two weeks in the month of February 2025. Knowing how challenging starting a new business could be, I will say that what we already accomplished is really encouraging.
Looking back in those two weeks, I am full of appreciation for the ShoKiN team. These friends gave us a very big support - an amazing soft landing for the newest web3 business in town. As we step into the month of March 2025 with big goals and dreams, here is how we performed after kickoff.
February 2025 - the stats
You could easily see from the chat on my thumbnail image that customers spent 204 HBD in February. That's really interesting given that it was only for a period of 2 weeks.
Onboarding is another important metric for this project. In the month of February, we onboarded 15 new users as follows:

Since it was just a 2 weeks period, that is an average of at least 1 new user signed up per day. Isn't that interesting?

March 2025 - executing the marketing plan
This month of March signals the beginning of our marketing efforts. So far, it has been administrative all the while. Trying to source goods, knowing prices, finding out what customers want and putting the supermarket in order have been so time-consuming. Having done all those things pretty well, its time to look for new users - happy spenders. Below are some of the marketing efforts already that will be executed.
- Facebook Marketing: Facebook remains the top social media platform for Nigerians with millions of active users from this country. As a digital marketer, I already have a wealth of experience running sponsored ads on Facebook.

In the days and months to come, I will be investing heavily in Facebook sponsored ads due to its effectiveness in reaching Nigerian users. Its a proven way to create awareness for any new project.
- Outreach to groups and Institutions: One of my main marketing efforts would be targeting any place where people are found in groups. That will take me to schools, skill centers, associations, trade unions and similar places. Very soon, I will kick-off my marketing project for a tertiary institution in my city.
A lot of awareness would be created and targeted towards public places too where people are known to come together for business or other reasons.
SpendHBD workshops: SpendHBD workshops would be the avenue for mentorship. Once we go out to create awareness, we will definitely have an arrangement to make presentations to anyone that will like to attend. I will try to have at least two days in the week for conducting workshops. This will enable new users to have a taste of instant discounts from spending HBD.
Radio presentations: There are many local radio stations that are popular in my city. Its another cool and fast way to create awareness. I have been doing Radio presentations for a while. I thinks its time to include it in my promotion efforts. Will be sharing results of that in the nearest future.
Goals and Dreams
My first goal for March is to hit or surpass 500 HBD spent in Happy Customer Supermarket by Month end. I also plan to onboard at least 40 new users before the month runs out. There is nothing wrong with dreaming big, is there? I dream of Happy Customer Supermarket becoming the top business where HBD is spent biggest of any other onboarded business.
By the way, I am building the largest community of Hive users in my city and perhaps country. Watch out for our first City Meetup on the last Saturday of March 2025. Its going to be huge - all brought to you by SpendHBD!
SpendHBD remains the best and most effective way to bring people to the blockchain. For me, its the door to mass adoption. I feel bullish about this project.
