I love autumn but I hate winter, and over the last week, we've had a taste of the latter. Especially yesterday.
For more than the last month, my Saturday has started in what feels like the dark, middle of the night. It's the one thing I've never adjusted to, living in the Western Cape. Having grown up further east, getting up in the dark didn't happen and in summer, the sun rose at 4 am.
Anyhow, I digress: yesterday when I went on to the stoep at 6am as I started getting organised for the market, it was warm, calm and clear. Even though the media were full of
weather warnings. I know how quickly the weather can change, so I was prepared.

This was two-and-a-bit hours later when I arrived at the market to set up.

Threatening clouds hanging over the village.

Then, an hour later - just - all clear.
That didn't last because the wind swept in during the afternoon, with rain over night.
This morning, there were 12mm in the rain gauge.
Until next time
