Not to her, but if she were bringing him home, her grandfather would be asking. She didn't want to embarrass him.
She loved her grandfather - he had raised her after her parents had been taken away by the Humans - but he could be somewhat insensitive.
It wasn't really polite to ask about ethnicity. Although she thought that if she was prepared to consider him a life partner, she should be able to bring up any subject, even if it was potentially awkward.
"I'm a bit nervous," she said.
He smiled and she oozed purple slime from her ear ducts. How embarassing!! He smiled and leaned in.
"I love you too," he said, his own ear ducts oozing a sort of orange coloured slime.
