Sometimes you wonder why universities and other higher institutions still build libraries in their schools. Some may even say, "We have everything we need on the internet, so why is there still a need for the library?"
Many people have forgotten the important role of the library because we are now living in a digital age, where everything has been digitalized, making them feel there is no need for the library. But did you know you can take your digitalized book to the library for easy consumption?
Hi, everyone. My name is Fashtioluwa, and I will be sharing with you the importance of embracing the role of libraries in this digital age. Sit back and relax as you consume content that would be beneficial to you.

Libraries have always been a sanctuary for knowledge seekers, a place where one can escape into the world of books, research, and learning. Back then, when you tell your friend you were going to the library or you were at the library all day, there was this feeling of superiority that came, and I tell you, that feeling is still there to date.
In today's fast-paced digital world, where information is just a click away, some might argue that libraries are becoming obsolete. However, I believe that libraries are more important now than ever before. There are so many distractions out there, so many things to draw your mind away from what you really want to study, especially when you use digitalized mechanisms to study but with the help of a library, where you have to follow certain rules to help you achieve your goal, studying has been made simple.
This is why many higher institutions place an important emphasis on building a school library. A school is a place to learn and study, so why is there a school without a library that would help the student make studying easier?
Despite the vast amount of information available online, libraries offer a sense of community and a quiet space for focused learning. They provide access to physical books, archives, and resources that may not be available online. Yes, there are some research you might need that might not be online but you can find them in the library and what is more important is that, you see other people doing what you are doing (Studying) this gives a sense of responsibility and making a person want to do more or study more.

Libraries also offer services such as research assistance, computer access, and educational programs that cater to a wide range of individuals. Libraries have also been digitalized but without taking away the old things that make them significant. There are computers in the libraries that help make research and learning faster. Remember I said, you can take the digital world to the library and still achieve those things you wanted to.
Libraries play a crucial role in bridging the digital and physical world. Not everyone has access to the internet or digital devices, and libraries provide a free and inclusive space for individuals to access information and technology. They serve as a lifeline for those who cannot afford expensive resources or who live in areas with limited connectivity.
In conclusion, libraries are not just a place of books; they are pillars of knowledge, community, and inclusivity. They adapt to the changing times by offering digital resources and services while maintaining their traditional values of access, education, and cultural enrichment.
So if you are not a person who loves to visit the library, I would advise you to have a second thought about it and see the benefits it has to offer.
Thanks for reading.
