"How time flies! Yesterday we were talking about our syllabus, exams and career and today we are stepping into our married life."
"You are right! But none of us is going to marry yet, so don't worry LOL!"
"Not us, but what's about Sara?"
"Sara? What do you mean? Of course, she is also a bachelor."
"Yes! But only for a few days."
"What do you mean by this?"
"Haven't she told you about her marriage?"
My friend Sonia told me this when we met at the weekend. Sonia and Sara were my university friends and we spent a lot of time together. Now our academic era has ended and we were used to meeting mostly on Weekends. But for two weeks Sara was making excuses for her absence which I was used to believing. But that day, Sonia revealed the shocking news that Sara was getting married soon. I was surprised at the same time as she never let me know about it.
"Did she tell you herself?"
"Yes! Yesterday, she rang me to inform me about her marriage. Perhaps she would tell you in one or two days."
"Perhaps!"
So after lunch, we hired a taxi which dropped us to our homes. I was happy for Sara a but little bit confused because she didn't inform me.
The next day I was sitting in my lounge, and just then I received a message. It was Sonia and she informed me that Sara had sent an invitation card to them. Her wedding was scheduled for Tuesday. I was offended to hear this, as she was my good friend and we always had shared a good bond.
"How could she do this to me? It's her big day and she has not even informed me about it."
I took this to heart and didn't go for lunch. My mom came to my room and asked the reason. I told her everything about what Sara did to me. She comforts me by saying positive words.
"She might be busy. You know how many things one would have to do for a wedding, so she must be busy preparing for her wedding, so don't take this to heart. She will invite you soon."
I waited for her message or call, but she never made any. The next day I went to the grocery with my Mom. After grocery, we went to the cosmetics shop as my mother wanted to buy her gel cream. When we entered the shop, Sara was already there. Perhaps she would be doing her shopping, so I never paid heed to her and asked my mom to leave as soon as possible. I don’t want to go in front of her, to get her reminded, so I thought it better to leave.
Finally, the day came, and Sonia messaged me to ask.
"Which dress you are wearing?"
I'm not wearing any dress I am not going because I don't want to be an uninvited person. "
"What? Hasn't she invited you yet? How could she do this? Let me ask her."
No! You don't need to ask anything of her, if I had been important to her, she would have invited me earlier. "
" But let me ask for once."
Sonia didn't hear to me and asked Sara about it. After a while, Sonia informed me that Sara would ring you after some time. So after a few minutes, I received a call from Sara, at first I didn't pick it up, but she was continuously ringing for 15 minutes, so my mom asked me to pick it up. This is what, she said to me.
I'm so sorry! I don't know how this happened. I gave the list of my all friends to my Mom and asked her to send the invitation cards. But don't know how she forgot to send you the invitation. I am sorry and I request you to attend my wedding function today. "
I never said anything to her, but this was the weakest excuse that she gave to me. If she could call her other friends, then why not me? But perhaps she didn't want to see me at her wedding. I was disappointed by her behavior and never went to attend her wedding because I was not expecting this from her.
