"That night was very difficult for me! I couldn't find anything to eat as they were awake till 1:00 am. I tried many times to come out from the dining table, but every time Genni came out from her room to look for her luggage."
Genni and her husband were going to Istanbul for their vacation. I was living in their house for a year but they never showed any hospitality even once. Perhaps they were unaware of my presence. But I am grateful for the food I ate at their house without being asked.
"Have you locked all the opened doors and windows?" Genni asked her husband.
"Yes! Everything is completely covered, not even a single sparrow can enter into our house in our absence."
"That's good! I have also cleaned the refrigerator and given all the food items to our neighbors. "
I was shocked to hear this.
"So I am going to be caught in a great food shortage for the next two weeks...That's pitiable! I should find some other way to cater to my needs." I said to myself.
The next day Genni and her husband woke up early and after having their breakfast they got ready to leave for the airport.
"I should try to leave the house otherwise I would die of famine," I murmured.
As they were in their room, I hiddenly ran out of the drawing room into the yard. I immediately ran towards the main gate, but sadly it was closed and there was not any single hole beneath from where I couldn't have escaped. So I waited till Genni and her husband came out. They opened the main door and kept their luggage in the Taxi.
It was the best opportunity for me to run out of the house, so I immediately made my way towards the gate. Luckily Genni and her husband were busy shifting the luggage in the taxi so they didn't notice my movement. When I ran on the road, I saw a couple, who were about to enter the nearby house. I decided to go along with the couple, as I was already looking for a new shelter.
But sadly, the couple closed the door as soon as they entered into the house. I panicked but never lost hope. I headed towards the other house, although the door was closed, there was a little hole in the door. I decided to take my way through it and I succeeded. As soon as I entered the house, I saw a boy who was sitting on the stairs and enjoying a cake. My mouth watered, but I controlled myself, as my first aim was to get through the house in some way.
After a while, finally I got a chance to get inside. When I reached the dining room, the smell of the food was already scattered there. My stomach was empty and I was craving food, so I decided to find something in the kitchen, but as soon as I stepped in the kitchen the little boy screamed,
"Mama! Mama! Look....there is a mouse!"
Hearing his words, I ran to save my life. His whole family ran to search for me but I managed to hide under the sofa. They looked for me for almost one hour, but luckily they couldn't find me.
"Tomorrow I will bring a clutch to catch the mouse." One of the family members uttered.
Hearing this, I was scared and decided to leave the house before the new dawn. But I was hungry, so I wanted to eat something to get some strength.
"I would wait till they all go to sleep," I said to myself.
I waited for three hours and finally, the drawing room and kitchen were empty. I came out and went straight to the kitchen. I searched everywhere and finally got some vegetables and grains. I ate some grains and picked some vegetables. I was about to eat it, but just then someone stepped towards me.
I got scared and turned my head. It was a wild cat with big paws. I ran to save myself. She followed me and was about to attack me, but just then she stumbled and fell. It was a golden chance for me, so I quickly ran out of the house. That day I nearly escaped death and it was my luck that saved me.
