After seeing this prompt, I was tempted to write about the Pop as a genre of music. But as I checked for sources that would further improve my post I saw a write up that changed my mind because it reminded me of a peculiar meaning of POP that I passed through, in which I will share with you now.
In the context of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), "POP" stands for Passing Out Parade, a ceremony marking the completion of the orientation camp and the corps members' transition to their Place of Primary Assignment.
LinkThe NYSC is a scheme in Nigeria where graduates in Nigeria must pass through before they can be recognized in the labour market.
I concluded mine last year and this image above is the proof, that is my certificate of participation.
The last day of the whole scheme is called the POP meaning passing out parade. A parade is done to honour those who are through with the scheme during the ceremony done in their honour. The whole scheme is really interesting and I enjoyed it all through to the end.
