Four! years ago, I wrote a post saying that someday I would start exploring the courtyard spaces of the city of Sokol. It took me a long time to get to this point, and yet I got there. I've already explored this city quite well with the help of dugouts, but I haven't reached the courtyard spaces yet.
Exploring courtyards means walking through all the nooks and crannies of the city in as much detail as possible.
I started with the neighborhoods that are closer: Trubki and Rassokha.
These are residential districts located on the opposite bank of the Sukhona River from the central part of Sokol.
The first Sokol's dugouts started from these places, so I know the area a little. But not all of it.
The time of studying the yards of the Sokol coincided with the frequency of deadpan, so the footage will be as close as possible to this style.
But if you remember in general how I used to photograph night yards, then the principle of frame construction is not much different.
Cloudy winter weather is well suited for deadpan: the sky does not turn blue or black, but has a tone similar to the rest of the scene.
What a subtle deadpan style! If there will be a starry sky, that's not suitable. The blue hour is not very suitable, the sunny day is too....everything should be monochrome, but at the same time colored!
I didn't really like the Trubki area – it was too simple and predictable.
But Rassokha is more interesting: there is a railway line to the industrial zone.
And there's a stream running through the residential areas.
Accordingly, there are bridges across the stream, which is already attractive.
I don't know why, but I like it when there's snow around, but the water isn't frozen...
