"On that faithful day, having finished a difficult task in office, rushed back to my love to share my day's experience with her, her response was so unlike her so I pushed to find out what was wrong. That was when she summoned courage to let the cat out of the bag, looking at me sternly she replied 'I am tired of this relationship, I quit'. My mind flew out of me, it was my least expected bomb shell. She quitted without any reason, all efforts to bring her back to the relationship proved abortive, that was when I actually realized I was faced with a breakup, the first of its kind. To simply put, I was devastated and heart broken" Mr John narrated to the guiding counsellor as he bowed his head to the table..
Mr John was advised by colleagues to see a counselor cos his situation was growing worse everyday
"see, you will not understand how I'm feelings now.. I better die than live without her...
See she just broke up with me without any reason counsellor" he added
The looks on the face of the counselor could tell that he understood how he was feeling...
He tried advising and comforting him but it seems as if it didn't mean anything to the depressed and down hearted..
This was my uncle going through breakup pains...
I could tell he wasn't himself for months

With the experience as narrated above, let me share some facts about breakup.
I can simply put it to be the separation of two persons (often guy and girl in relationship or married couple) who had come to a decision to stick together in love. This normally happens when one party is no more interested while the other still is, or both just decide to let go.
Breakup can come as a result of the following reasons.
- Failure to keep to promises by either parties.
- Lack of care and attention by either parties.
- When love and trust has been taken for granted
- When either parties have found more love and comfort in the arms of another person.
- Family and peer group influence over either parties
- When estimated expectations from the relationship is not forth coming
- Change in environment
- When there was no purpose at first in the relationship
- When the foundation of the relationship was not rooted in God.
- To mention but a few.
Breakup has a great deal of negative effect especially on the side of the party who still wishes to hold on to it. These ranges from heartbreak, lost of faith in love, lack of concentration in one's daily activities, fear of facing the future alone, frustration, devastation, and even to committing of suicide and death. From this experience, these are no good things one could wish for in life. On this grounds I personally stands to discourage breakup in every levels of relationship and this can be achieved if both parties involved are away of the above stated reasons that could lead to breakup and guide against it.
