Some facts about Makeevka
The name Makeevka is primarily associated with the two constituent components of this city: coal and metal. In the early 1970s, 14 cities mined coal more than Italy, Belgium, Spain and Portugal combined. It was coal and metal that turned a small settlement into an industrial giant. In Makeyevka, the outstanding mining engineers Fedorovich, Levitsky worked, from under Makeyevka the roots of the "father of Russian cinema" Khanzhonkov, under Makeyevka, a series of brilliant victories was won by the hero Donna Chernetsov.
