Hoy Quise practicar haciendo unos manteles o individuales sublimados con unas flores rojas. Poco se ven en el mercado este tipo de manteles, me recuerdan mucho a mi madre.
La sublimación en este estilo es una técnica que esta muy de moda ahorita y se está aplicando a todo tipo de impresión sobre tela y otras superficies, cada día vemos más personas preocupadas por tener cosas originales en su hogar, personalizar sus espacios con algo que definitivamente es especial y no lo encontrarás en ninguna tienda.
Tengo amigas que son así, mandan a imprimir sus propios diseños en lugares de imprenta, tal vez sea una opción de bajar costos en la ropa o tal vez no, dependiendo de la calidad lógicamente. Hay lugares donde ofrecen descuentos impresionantes.
Comencé a imprimir cositas para mí y mis seres queridos, a penas estoy aprendiendo, poco a poco estaré mostrando mis avances y aprendizaje en esto.

Learning the art of sublimation...


Today I wanted to practice making some tablecloths or placemats sublimated with some red flowers. You rarely see this kind of tablecloths in the market, they remind me a lot of my mother.


Sublimation in this style is a technique that is very fashionable now and is being applied to all kinds of printing on fabric and other surfaces, every day we see more people concerned about having original things in your home, customize their spaces with something that is definitely special and you will not find it in any store.


I have friends who are like that, they have their own designs printed in printing places, maybe it is an option to lower costs in clothing or maybe not, depending on the quality logically. There are places where they offer impressive discounts.


I started printing little things for me and my loved ones, I am just learning, little by little I will be showing my progress and learning in this.

Paso a paso / Step by Step


Step 1️⃣/ Paso 1️⃣

Es difícil hacer capturas de este paso a paso, por eso prefiero grabarme.
Para trazar el círculo perfecto usé dos platos de diferentes tamaños, uno más grande que otro, con ayuda de un lápiz tracé la línea de corte.
Marqué tres piezas y las recorté.

To trace the perfect circle I used two plates of different sizes, one larger than the other, and with the help of a pencil I traced the cutting line.
I marked three pieces and cut them out.

Step 2️⃣/ paso 2️⃣

Imprimo el diseño deseado, para ello uso una impresora con tinta especial para sublimación, impreso sobre un papel especial para sublimar de secado instantáneo. Enciendo la plancha de sublimar para que vaya calentando, la temperatura adecuada para este proyecto es de 356°F. Mientras la plancha va calentando, coloco la hoja impresa por unos segundos que reciba el calo de la plancha para quitarle un poco la humedad si la tuviera.

I print the desired design, for this I use a printer with special sublimation ink, printed on a special instant dry sublimation paper. I turn on the sublimation iron to heat it up, the right temperature for this project is 356°F. While the iron is heating, I place the printed sheet for a few seconds to receive the heat of the iron to remove a little moisture if any.

Step 3️⃣/ paso 3️⃣

Recorto las piezas para organizarlas en cada mantel. Coloco la pieza en la plancha que ya esta a la temperatura adecuada.
Sobre la pieza coloco un papel blanco común para evitar que la tinta pueda manchar la plancha y con ello la pieza.
Cierro la tapa con presión y espero el tiempo adecuado para trasladar el diseño del papel a la pieza que son 60 segundos.

I cut out the pieces to arrange them on each tablecloth. I place the piece on the iron that is already at the right temperature.
On top of the piece I place a common white paper to prevent the ink from staining the iron and thus the piece.
I close the lid with pressure and wait for the appropriate time to transfer the design from the paper to the piece, which is 60 seconds.

Step 4️⃣/ paso 4️⃣

La plancha debe manejarse con mucho cuidado porque podrías quemarte las manos.
Una vez transcurridos los 60 segundos, abro la plancha y con cuidado retiro la pieza porque está muy caliente. Es mejor usar guantes que te protejan del calor o unas pinzas.

The griddle must be handled very carefully because you could burn your hands.
Once the 60 seconds have elapsed, I open the iron and carefully remove the piece because it is very hot. It is best to wear gloves to protect you from the heat or use tongs.

Step 5️⃣/ paso 5️⃣

Con ayuda de un yesquero, quemo la orilla de cada pieza de tela.
Coso un zig zag por toda la orilla.
Luego coso con una recta, el encaje sobre la pieza.
Este procedimiento lo repito en cada una de las piezas.
Con ello terminamos de personalizar unos lindos manteles.

With the help of a tinderbox, I burn the edge of each piece of fabric.
I sew a zig zag along the edge.
Then I sew the lace over the piece with a straight stitch.
I repeat this procedure on each of the pieces.
With this we finish personalizing some nice tablecloths.
