Today is our medical director birthday and we celebrated it peacefully. We didn't know our medical director had a planned to celebrate his birthday with us today in the facility. Considering the fact that things are tóugh and difficult this December festival, we are approaching Christmas period and our salary hasn't been paid yet. We were just thinking on how to sing a happy birthday song and pray for him when there's no patients anymore in the facility. It's an hospital so we won't shout or play any loud music for celebration of our medical director birthday.
infact playing loud music during working hours is prohibited, we were not allowed to play loud music to disturb patients in the wards and those on admittion. Therefore we just wanted to surprise him with a little gift we could be able to bought for him, presented it to him and pray for him. But he also surprised us as well. When we got to his office, we noticed he was arranging some packages but we didn't know what's inside neither thought it for us.
We sang a happy birthday song for him and prayed for him, then we brought out the little gift we bought and gave it to him. He was so happy and excited seeing his staffs has gotten a surprise birthday gift for him. He collected the gift and really appreciated us very well for the birthday wishes and prayers and surprised gift.
He asked all the staffs to sit down and we all sat down. He brought out his birthday surprised packages and give to each one of us a special package, a bottle water, a bottle of malt and one packet of Maggie all round together. He told us he didn't planned it so big with us because he knows he hasn't paid us yet and some of us will be going home for Christmas.
But nevertheless he wants to bless us all with this little birthday package to shown his appreciation and gratitude to God Almighty for adding another new age to his years. We collected the packages and thank him for the kind gestures and special package he gives us.
This man, Mr Garba Akuadne, our medical director who is like a father to us, he loves all his staffs and care about all his staffs like his own biological children. Everytime one of the staff have personal problem especially financial challenges and asked him for assistance, the medical director will gladly helped at his capacity. He can even paid your one or two months salaries if you demanded for it because of one or two challenges you are passing through and want to sort it out .
This man is not just our medical director, neither a man who pays our monthly salaries, but he is a father to us all the staffs. He has been supportive and have helped us in no small way. There are other health workers working in other facilities or hospitals that often speak bad about their medical directors, about their tough or harsh treatment or attitudes towards their workers at work but our own medical director is different .
He speaks to us like a father speaking to his children. Even when we did something wrong, he will called us and correct us in love and make us understand what we did was not good and is wrong and give us directions on what to do for the betterment of the facility.
He told us everybody is important in the facility, we are a team and family. Whatever affects one person has affected us all. Honestly he is a good and accommodated person,he can accommodate all his staffs. We've wished him more years to his life and more prosperity added to his bank account. We really had an amazing birthday celebration today at the facility.
