The music video features a bunch of my friends, who are actors, taking silly selfies and tagging them just as silly. But these are real selfies that people post and real hashtags used on Instagram! I think the amount of hashtagging that goes on today is pretty ridiculous. I can understand that it’s a good idea to tag your post so it’s easier for people to find it if they need to. But long hashtagged sentences are pretty comical.
We’ve hashtagged the selfies in the video with regularly used hashtags. Selfies is another topic I find fascinating. Food selfies? Dog selfies? Butt selfies? We all take the occasional selfie but do we really need to share a selfie in every possible scenario?
I’m not judging. I’m also guilty of selfies and hashtags. I’m just putting it out there for us to think about and hopefully laugh a bit at ourselves!
