Colours have interesting relationship with human. Some research provided us that it is important to understand the physiological effects of colours on person. It could impact our emotions and behaviours because colours are widely and deeply embedded in our lives such as past experiences, memories, religion, race, gender and so on. Every decision of colours on the canvas can heavily impact the viewers. So, every choice of colours are crucial and precious. By looking at the red, they might feel aggressive, powerful, hesitated or welcomed, loved and etc.
How do you feel about this painting? and what do you see in this painting?
I recently got some feedback from peers and they said they felt like this painting was more about tropical temperature type than the blue experimental painting I've done (posted in the previous post). One commented that the subject matter in this painting reminded her a Bird of paradise flower which its origin is South Africa surprisingly.
This oil painting work is still in progress. It has been put aside (maybe far away from me) for more than one week now. I feel like it's reaching close to the finishing point but I still see some areas that are unresolved yet.
I am struggling. Hopefully, it is a good struggle.
