This is my first time posting about coin, and I hope that I won't break any guidelines. Although it is about silver and gold, this time the coin that I have now only consists of Aluminium. I don't think there are many of the coins here in my country that are made of silver, maybe in the past, but not recently.
And why I titled it as a useless coin, and unfortunately, it is also still a legal tender, because the coin almost won't get you anything these days. Even small candies sometimes cost a lot more than this coin.
This is also part of my experiment of doing some of my macro setup at home, which for me doesn't seem to work really well. Maybe you can tell what is lacking in the photos below.
Here you can see the denomination of this coin, which is 100 Rupiah, and the year of its emission, which is 2016. So this coin is maybe about 9 years old already.
Then I tried to put it upright on my desk. And the light from my camera flash was bouncing back into the desk, making it shine a little bit.
I am not sure why I only get one photo of the obverse part of the coin. hahaha
it shows the emblem of Indonesia (Garuda Pancasila) and the portrait of the national hero of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Ir Herman Johanes.
Here is more info about the coin. And I never expected that the coin is worth more than $1 out there in another country. so amazing and interesting.
