Previously, my adventures led me to Olin, a character who had helped the bandits who attacked the village and sabotaged the great test. After dealing with the traitor, I am about to return to Meridian to report what happened, but first I have a few things to take care of.
The first time I visited Meridian I learned from Erend about the deaths of several soldiers, including his sister. While everyone had seen the mangled bodies of the soldiers, Erend wanted me to use the FOCUS to try to better understand what had happened.
The place where the bodies were found did not look like the same place where the attack had occurred, as there were traces everywhere that they had been brought here. Using the Fpocus vision, we followed the trail to some ancient ruins.
In the ruins we were ambushed by some machines, but it was nothing we couldn't deal with. But anyway, there is a picture with a pose next to the newly discovered mechanical being.
At the scene of the attack there are all kinds of clues. Some clues indicated that the attack took place there and that they had disfigured the face of Erend's sister with a rock so that she would not be recognized. There were also clues that the bandits were well equipped and organized.
Upon returning to Meridian, I reported everything to the Sun King and a new assignment called Borderlands begins. This assignment is to travel to a distant camp to meet an informant. This informant could tell us if the group of organized bandits belonged to Dervhal's gang. There was also the possibility that Erend's sister was still alive and that the disfigured body found was a replacement.
And here I am once again crossing lands infested with killing machines in search of the truth, which is why Aloy was named the Seeker.
Arriving at Risco Inclinado, I find Marad's informant. Unfortunately, someone beat me to it, so this informant will no longer report anything. Next to his corpse are some notes written in blood, which, when investigated with the FOCUS, reveal the location of a bandit camp.
Just in front of the camp I meet Erend and his followers and we prepare an attack. Stealth was a very good option until one of the NPCs came up with the idea of attacking one of the chained machines. From then on everything was chaos.
During the fight I remembered that I had a new ability that allows me to attract the attention of the machines in front of me and decided to try it out to see how it looked. Since I didn't have any animation, I then tried photo mode and the calling pose, and that's how it looked.
As I tried to enter the main building, a sonic trap activated, making it impossible for me to advance. After the noise, a special enemy appeared. The last bandit standing used a heavy weapon and was defeated between Erend and Aloy.
The corpse of the last bandit had something strange. Upon close inspection, you could see that he had some disks covering his ears and, as inside the base, a strange noise could be heard, he decided to take them with him, those ear projectors.
Inside the bandits' base we found Ersa, Erend's sister. She was badly wounded, having been subjected to torture and mistreatment. Barely able to speak, she told us about Dervhal's plans to attack Meridian using a sonic weapon, which they had tested on herself.
With a last gasp, Ersa died in Erend's hands leaving us to wonder how much information she had revealed during her torture. Erend asks me to return to Meridian and report back, as he wanted to spend a little more time with his sister.
