One of the demands is: That the institutions do their job

This is a sentence that could be heard countless times on the streets and squares of all the cities of our country.
If you live in Serbia, for the last 5 months, since the fall of the canopy in Novi Sad, which killed 16 people, you know that student protests have been going on.
If you live in Serbia or follow the events on your media (since it is almost impossible to do that in Serbian), you are witnessing a historic moment of awakening the consciousness of a large part of sleeping citizens, who have been apolitical for decades.
One of the demands of the students is: "That the institutions do their job".
I fully agree with them, I support them and listen to everything about the organization they have, in order to force the head of state and the government to fulfill them.
The institutions that we require to do their work are primarily the prosecution, the judiciary and the police.
From this, it is clear that we have completely lost our trust in them.
But since the topic of this week's post is not about institutions but about organizations, I would like to mention one, which has been in the government services for years.
Our fan groups - the two largest in Serbia.
Partizan fan organization and Crvena Zvezda fan organization.
I remember when I was a kid, my uncle took me to the stands of football stadiums, where we supported our club together.
In those years, we had confidence in all of the above-mentioned institutions.
The police guarded the people, order and peace, administered justice, arrested criminals, and the courts sentenced them to prison terms, and they ended up in prisons, where they belong.
After the collapse of society and the civil war that disintegrated the country we lived in, fan organizations began to organize themselves as criminal organizations.
Parents with small children no longer appeared in the stands, but hooligans ready for conflicts.
Instead of the prosecution removing those hooligans from the streets and stands, the government recruits them for its own needs, for organizing thugs and carrying out violence against citizens.
And they are especially engaged by this, the last government, which is the cause of the current protests.
Leaders of fan organizations are closely connected to the top of the state and as such, far from real fans.
For this reason, all of us, fans who are not in those parts of organized groups, are not paid as fan staff, we distance ourselves from those leaders.
Trust in fan organizations has been lost, fans who have not been paid and bribed, refuse to obey the fan leaders and at matches they finally start to express their opinion, which is the same as the opinion of the majority of the population, shouting slogans against the most responsible for the bad state of the country, the one who pays the fan leaders to be his bullies.
I hope that the day will come when the fan groups will fully join the citizens and students in protesting against the evil that has taken over this country of ours.
I am sorry that I put the word no confidence next to the image of my country's flag, the flag for which our ancestors gave their lives in the past, but that same flag is used so often by those who are not worthy to look at it, let alone touch it.
As long as there are them, in all institutions and organizations in Serbia, I have no confidence.
They let me down many times (as well as fan organizations), but I hope that there is still time for things to be fixed and that our flag stands proudly in front of all those institutions and organizations.
And finally, I also have confidence in them.
