When I found these bottles of beer in the market in Szeged, which I had never bought before, and had the opportunity to taste them, I was satisfied.
I found one IPA and one Mango IPA.
"There's nothing that can't be good" I thought, (I've already drunk a few of the same styles, compare with the one I drank).
But the satisfaction disappeared when I put the bottles in the fridge at home.
Only then did I notice the label - these are non-alcoholic beers.
They stayed longer in the fridge, waiting for the opportunity to taste them.
And the opportunity arose today, in 411 weeks on #BeerSaturday
Considering that last night I was at a bar with friends from high school to celebrate the anniversary of my graduation, and I drank more beer than I should have, today this non-alcoholic is actually a great choice.
It's an excellent choice because I have to look at some project (and it wouldn't be good to do it under the influence of alcohol), as well as to drive a car a little later.
So, I had both of these beers:
Szent András Brewery, Majnem Mango IPA and Majnem IPA.
If I could understand the Hungarian language at least a little, this Majnem could have been enough for me to understand that it is:
Almost IPA, Non-Alcoholic Craft beer.
But be that as it may, now I took them chilled to refresh myself and compare them with the taste of well-known IPA beers.
Majnem IPA
When pouring into a glass, this non-alcoholic IPA creates a good foam, on the smell, it acts like a classic IPA, you can feel the scents of tropical fruits. The foam fits well. I like the color and it's cloudy.
On the palate, you can feel a bit stronger bitterness, there are refreshing flavors of citrus fruits, but still something is missing. The taste does not have the fullness of a classic IPA beer.
*Majnem Mango IPA
As for the Mango IPA, I see it has 30% mango in it. I was wondering what this beer would taste like.
The smell is also present with a good foam and a beautiful color(The color is the only thing I like about this beer).
At the first sip, I conclude that this beer has a lot less bitterness.
However, I didn't like it.
It's too sweet.
These two bottles taught me to pay a little more attention to the labels, to read the composition and the percentage of alcohol when choosing a beer that I haven't had the chance to taste yet.
Now I slipped through.
But for the future, I wouldn't buy non-alchohol craft beers.
