Warm greeting to all Hivers! I want to share a real moment that happened in our home, a simple afternoon that turned into a sweet memory.
My in-laws, my sister-in-law and my nieces visited us one day. It was not a planned gathering, just a simple visit, because they wanted to see my daughter. After we finished lunch, we stayed in the backyard and talked. We shared time together, no rush, just good conversation and family warmth.

While we were talking. I felt that somethings were missing. I wanted to serve something simple that everyone could enjoy. I remember our papaya tree in the backyard. So, I went outside and picked papaya. When I held it, I already knew it was ready. I felt firm and heavy.

My sister-in-law slice the papaya and the color surprise her. The flesh was very red and fresh. You could really tell it was sweet. The texture was crunchy and juicy at the same time. My husband came in and brought sinamak, our favorite dipping sauce. It was perfect timing.

I placed the sliced papaya on the table. And everyone started to eat while we continued talking, the taste was really good, very sweet and refreshing. My daughter and my little niece were the happiest. Papaya is one of their favorite fruits, and they kept reaching for more slices. Seeing the, enjoy it made the moment more special.

We shared the papaya together, laughing and talking with kids eating and adult relaxing. It was a simple snack, but it made the afternoon feel complete.
That moment made me realize how thankful I am for our backyard papaya. It is not just a fruit, it is something we can share when family visits, that’s why I want to plant more papaya trees. I hope the next time our relative visit again, we will have more harvest to share.
