Life has a way of changing our plants in an instant. The reason I had to go back home was because of an accident that happened to my mother. Family always comes first, so without hesitation, I returned to our place to win her. But in the middle of responsibilities, I unintentionally neglected one thing that has always given me peace that is my garden.

When I finally had time to check my plants, my heart felt heavy. Some of the seeds I carefully planted did not germinate. Other had already grow tiny leaves, but we're knocked down but our roaming duck and chickens. Some seedlings were drowned by continuous rain. It felt like all my efforts were washed away.

But gardening, just like life, teaches us to begin again.
Now, I am planning to create another garden near our farmhouse, right in front of the piggery. It may not be the most perfect or aesthetic location, but it is practical and close enough for me to monitor every day. This time, I want to be more hands-on and intentional, even with my busy schedule.

I still have seedlings waiting for their chance to grow, green chili, native chili, cosmos flower, cucumber, string beans, sunflower and many more. Seeing these seedlings reminds me that hope is never gone. There is always something ready to sprout if we just give it attention.

One small happiness that made me smile was my butter squash plant. I planted it eve without removing the weeds because I simply didn't have time to clear the area. With everything going on, weeding became the least of my priorities. Yet despite that, the squash survived. It grew, it proved that even in imperfect conditions, life finds a way.

These simple plants became my quiet reminder: progress, does not always require perfect preparation. My supposed planting area is not yet ully secured. There are still ducks roaming around because their cage is not stable yet. For now, I have to wait, I've learned that forcing things before the time is right can cause more damage. So instead of stressing, I choose to prepare what I can.
I also planted lemongrass in recycled plastic bottles, and they are now ready for transplanting. Using bottles is my small way of recycling and maximizing what we already have at home. Soon, I will transfer them to the soil and let them grow stronger roots.

This season of my life may not be as organized as I want it to be. Managing family and home responsibilities, and trying to restart my garden, everything feels overwhelming at times. But I've realized that gardening is not just about harvesting vegetables. It is about patience, it is about resilience. Just like my plants, I am also growing, slowly but surely.
