The crowd was chanting for young Demas as he received his trophy for being the best magician at the magic academy. The academy was renowned for training the most exceptional magicians. But for Demas, it was not the end; it was the start of another journey, a journey filled with hardships and struggles. As every magician had to create their own magic spell after their graduation, Demas was no different. He went on a journey to find inspiration for his spell.
His journey started by reaching a jungle. The jungle was filled with monsters, but it was easier for him to defeat all those monsters as he had trained well for these circumstances. He single-handedly wiped out all the monsters in his magical radius, but he was unaware that when the monsters died, they left behind a poisonous gas. The gas was the result of their pain and suffering as they were once humans, transformed into monsters by the mages, and misunderstood by humans and elves throughout their lives.
Demas woke up to find himself in a hut. His body was green due to the poisonous effects. He saw a beautiful elf lady dipping needles in a magical liquid. The elf lady continued her healing procedure by inserting those needles into Demas' body. Demas didn't feel any pain and was mesmerized by the beauty of the elf.
After Demas was properly healed, he came out of the hut to see elves using human technology for their day-to-day lives. A group of elves, who were the royal knights of the queen, were practicing their swordsmanship skills under the divine tree that gave life to the forest. For Demas, all his life, he had thought that swords were for the weak; that's why rule number 1 in the magic academy forbade the use of swords or any physical weapon in combat. But having a glimpse of the combos used by the elf knights changed his perception. It seemed like he had found the inspiration for his very own magic spell creation.
Demas returned to the hut and started creating a spell which he named 'Infinite Daggers'. The way the spell worked was that a dagger was shot at the enemy, and every time it hit the enemy, it returned to the hands of the caster and doubled in number if the enemy was still alive.
Demas left the jungle and returned to the magic academy. He showed his head of the magic council the Infinite Daggers spell. The head of the council advised him to present a different magic spell on the day of the presentation, but Demas thought otherwise. He chose the FREEDOM OF SPEECH over using his spell in PRIVACY. When the head of the council came to know about his intentions, he challenged Demas to a duel to the death. In the battle, the head told Demas that since these infinite daggers took time to multiply, it was proven again that swords were for the weak. But Demas thought otherwise and believed that this spell's speed and technique could be improved. Now Demas was screaming in pain as the head used his advanced spell on Demas, which resulted in Demas' own microorganisms eating his body.
Conclusion:
The story might be weaker from many angles as there are gaps in the fiction, but it shows how the freedom of speech can sometimes even take the lives of people. If we want to change the world, the first thing is survival, and from this perspective, I want to say that I choose PRIVACY over FREEDOM OF SPEECH any day. Demas may have seemed like a hero who died for a greater cause, but there might be some other ways to change the mindset of the magic academy. Perhaps he should have focused on something in private instead of choosing freedom of speech in inappropriate circumstances.
Moral Of The Story:
Sometimes, PRIVACY > FREEDOM OF SPEECH!
I hope you all enjoyed my contest entry for HiveLearners' dilemma about privacy and freedom. I hope it helped you understand the underrated consequences of freedom of speech.

I and my wife were enjoying our regular entrepreneurial days of life and were living a happy lifestyle. I was having my cup of tea while watching my laptop wallpaper of a beautiful sky. She came to me and asked me about my affection to watch the stars. I told her how I have nostalgic feelings from my childhood about watching the brightest sky. She went to our terrace and came back after 20 mins. She looked at me and smiled while typing something on the laptop. I got excited to know about the darkest place in Pakistan on our laptop screen would be a great spot to view the brightest sky. I postponed our meetings to next week, she informed me. I was still shocked, it all was happening too quickly. It was a remote village in Balochistan, the darkest place with the biggest sky.
