Hi there. In this Pokemon TCG Pocket post, I feature an updated Mewtwo ex deck with new cards from the the latest Fantastical Parade set.
I don't know if this deck is competitive on ladder as it is untested there.
Mewtwo ex + Mega Gardevoir ex
Mewtwo ex
Even though there are a lot of Mega Pokemon ex options in the game, I still think Mewtwo ex is a good attacker. There are not many one hit knockout attackers out there so you do need to two hit bulky enemies.
Mewtwo ex is a good attacker that is not a Mega Pokemon. If this Mewtwo ex gets knocked out, you don't lose automatically as you give the opponent 2 points out of 3.
Psychic Sphere is an okay attack for 1 Psychic Energy and 1 Colourless Energy to deal 50 damage. Psydrive requires 2 Psychic Energy and 2 Colourless Energy to deal 150 damage with the drawback of discarding 2 Psychic Energy.
Gardevoir
Gardevoir is the main engine for powering up Mewtwo ex. Once during your turn, you may take a Psychic Energy from your Energy Zone and attach it to a Psychic Pokemon into the Active Spot. You can attach 2 Psychic Energy per turn (1 from Gardevoir and 1 manual attach).
Mega Gardevoir ex
Mega Gardevoir ex is an okay attacker but it provides major Psychic Energy acceleration to your Psychic Pokemon. You can power up Mewtwo ex on the Bench if it is available.
New Card Inclusions - Meloetta, Peculiar Plaza, Diantha

Meloetta is a support Psychic Pokemon that is an okay attacker on its own. The Strange Singing ability activates if Meloetta is in the Active Spot at the start of your turn. Then you put a random Psychic Pokemon from your deck into your hand. This random Pokemon search ability is good for setting up Gardevoir or Mega Gardevoir on your bench.
Peculiar Plaza is one of the three starting stadium cards in the Fantastical Parade set. This stadium is helpful as the retreat cost for Psychic Pokemon for both players is 2 less. As Mewtwo ex has 2 retreat cost, Peculiar Plaza allows Mewtwo ex to retreat at a zero cost.
Diantha provides good healing but you discard 2 Psychic Energy. This is good to heal Mewtwo ex while you have a Gardevoir engine at the back.

Here is my decklist. Instead of 2 X Speed, I do one copy of Peculiar Plaza for retreating if needed. I do have 3 Gardevoirs in the form of 2 Gardevoir and 1 Mega Gardevoir. Maybe I could cut the second Gardevoir and put in a second Rare Candy.
Advantages
- Peculiar Plaza helps with retreating without discarding Psychic Energy.
- Mega Gardevoir ex as a secondary attacker that can power up Mewtwo ex.
- Meloetta helps with thinning out the deck and getting Psychic Pokemon.
Disadvantages
- Deck can still brick, it can be hard to get the Gardevoir and Mewtwo ex setups in time before opponent.
- Dark attackers hurt this deck.
- Meloetta may not be used.
Closing Thoughts
This updated Mewtwo ex deck with Mega Gardevoir, Meloetta and Peculiar Plaza does seem smoother than previous Mewtwo ex decks. At the start of the Pocket game launch, Mewtwo ex decks were pretty powerful. Now with Mega Pokemon ex in the mix, Mewtwo ex decks are kind of forgotten.

I do think Mewtwo ex is a viable attacker in a Mega Evolution format in Pocket. You don't give 2 Points if Mewtwo ex is knocked out and the firepower on Mewtwo ex is still good.
